I actually like the look of the radio. I also like the composite bed...no steel to rust, and no need for extra cash for a spray-in.

This is true, but stuff slides all over the slick plastic unless you tie it down, it is also hotter in the
summer. Just wished the spray in type was an option, that's all.

Good points. I suppose you are kind of obligated to get a bed mat of sorts to keep things in place.

My god there are some stupid complaints on this forum. First off, that is the cheap standard display. Not the 7". Second, it not being flush does not make it like an aftermarket unit...

Good information from a few on here.

Amazing how opinions can vary on how the new engine feels. I will post my opinions whenever a Kansas City dealership gets one in....it may be awhile.

Get an oem bed mat. Have one in my 12. Nothing moves with that thing. Well worth the $100.

You have to remember people are coming from different cars. If you're coming from a truck that, say, 400HP, or a sporty car, then yeah, the truck engine may feel like it doesn't have enough pep. For someone like me, who is coming from a 4banger Frontier, I bed the thing will feel like a damn Ferarri. lol

I'm honestly impressed that the screen setup is that nice and big for being the standard, non upgraded unit.

Can you still do a spray in on the composite beds?

My question is does the Gen 3 still have that "pink" thingie on the fan clutch?

That's my big criticism of the interior. The LCD looks somewhat aftermarket and does not match the surrounding plastics.

It looks like the exact same radio that is in my 2015.

It is. The LCD for the TRD sport looked different and better but was all in shiny piano black while the surround and dash is matte. Looks totally aftermarket.

Has anyone been able to test drive a 6 speed manual TRD yet? Am I correct that these previous reviews were for AT? Unless, I missed something.

I'm not sure it's tactful to call an opinion that you don't agree with stupid. You can call that screen a "standard" unit all you want but it will cost you 30 grand to own one. If your standards are that low, so be it. But I, like 90% of Tacoma owners out there, am going to spend a lot more time looking at that dashboard (and explaining to others that it is, in fact, OEM) than I am crawling up the side of a mountain. With respect, I challenge you to show me any OEM LCD screen, at any price, that protrudes outward from the surface of the dash and looks as blatantly like an aftermarket unit as this one does.

Haven't seen it in person yet but so far from what I've read it does not seem "worth" it. Hopefully be getting some at a dealer near me so I can give a couple of them a test drive.
