Howdy, new to the spot. I see good info here. Need some, please.

So's I goes to the Toyota dealership, look over lots of available used, see new is only a few chings on the chinger more so what the heck. Let's do this. 2015 Silver Sky Metallic Tacoma Double Cab. Test drive.....wha? This stereo sounds like cheap AM radio transistor radio sound. Our 2005 Tundra stock stereo kicks compared to this low powered POS model in the new Tac.
Since many have found this to be the case, I am fishing for info here. Questions: Without changing the HU (like the Bluetooth, USB options, XM etc.) Do I look at speakers only, speakers with an amp, changing only front speakers, changing all speakers, going with component speakers, going with 6X9 2 or 3 ways in the front doors and leaving the stock tweets running? I mean, help if you are willing. Other question: What size speakers are in the back doors? Pretend I am not knowing because...I am trying to learn.

Thanks for any and all serious replies.

was a Rock LOBSTAH! Hey, thanks for the reply. I did the guit-fiddle in your Avatar. Nice, self made? Dabbled a bit with guitar construction as a children, had a sweet butch-block Flying V bass for a while. Any way, thanks again. Been all over the net fishing for the right way to go. So many options. I am NOT audio reconstruction savvy and appreciate any assistance. Cheers to you, 53 miles west of Venus.

I installed this setup on my 2015 DCSB, Sounds amazing! Blows the crap out of the stock stereo system. It does cost quite a bit, but with the overall ease of installation and OEM Integration and still able to use all the functionality of the stock radio, it was definitely worth it.

You can ask your local shop what you will get for the same amount, or even DYI, but for me with a really busy schedule and wanting a plug and play solution, this system cannot be beat at this price point.
