DMV CA LEGACY PLATES

I really wanted the 1970s plates, maybe it will come around again!!

 

Have you heard about the new gas taxes our wonderful state is looking to pose? Higher taxes at the pump, possible higher registration fee's. Even monitoring how many miles you drive and charging by the mile.

Never had a vanity plate before so hopefully someone can answer this question- if the vehicle is in MY company's name rather than mine, then am I not eligible?

 

I would probably have to say no you are not

 

I don't think that's the case. The local car dealerships have personalized plates for their loaner cars (not every car). But if they can get them I am sure you can Maximus.

 

That's what I thought, Frank. I have seen limousines and other commercial vehicles with vanity plates but when I selected "yes" to the question "Is this Vehicle Leased or Owned in a Company Name?" it said " You cannot order a Personalized Special Interest License Plate online for a leased or company owned vehicle. Please contact your local DMV for more information." I would rather not contact my local DMV as I do not have 45 minutes to waste with them.

So I ordered mine last week, how long is the wait for non personalized plates? I got the same plate number cause I'm weird af and for some reason like the numbers hahaa

 

I'm at 8 weeks and still waiting for my personalized ones. Not sure if that helps you at all.

I ordered on 06/23 and picked them up 09/11, it felt almost like waiting for my Homer Taco grille , almost

 

I'm assuming that personalized plates would take longer? Also you have to pick them up? I thought they were shipped to the registered address?

 

the legacy plate is custom, wheteher you personalize it or not, it has to be ordered on-line, you have to pick them up and surrender your old plates, they do not ship these out

 

70's plates were Blue with Yellow symbols. Did they offer them also?

Do they notify me when they're at the DMV?

 

You have to submit the form and as far as I know, you can't do that online. They sent mine in the mail and I still have my old plates.

 

Yea it specifically told me when I ordered them that they would come in the mail. Never mentioned i'd have to go pick them up.
