Like anything if its well maintained you shouldn't have problems but if you neglect a cheap chinese winch it will go bad much quicker than a high end winch.

It was never neglected treated like any other winch the controller was under the hood not even out in the elements. Ive seen a handfull of shittybuilt winches fail in front of me i will never run another one.

Honestly I feel like it just coms down to preference kind of like color of a coilover when you get to a certain point. No matter what winch Id take it completely apart upon arrival repack new fresh grease and go from there.

Off Road tow pac. GTCovers wetskinz seat covers, Direct wired Escort 9500xi, Leer 180 w/ARB awning, bed mat, extra d-rings, rear dif breather relocated, Weathertec mats, Elite front with Warn M8000-s and Rigid D2's, BAMF sliders, ABS killswitch, Kicker Hideaway sub, UltraGauge, ATO rear with flush mount duallys, FJ Trail Team black rims w/Duratracs.
Warn M-8000s, I put the solenoid in the passenger side corner of the engine bay just ahead of the glove box. Had to custom fab a little l bracket but it's nice and stout. Works slick with Warns wireless remote. Got my first gen stuck so I hooked up my 2nd gen with the winch and pulled myself out using the wireless remote.

I think most people who have them are in the PNW. How much would they be due to the fact that he doesn't make them anymore.

You would have a hard time finding someone selling an Elite bumper and even if you do the more than likely wont be near Houston. Look into Shrockworks, having the fab shop local will save you hundreds on shipping.

Sold mine to a friend when I bought my brute force fab hybrid. I'd have kept it but I did not have the heart to hack it up to make it fit with my body lift.

Sold mine on my old Tacoma, if I could I would've taken it off to sell for more and slapped an OEM bumper on... though time, the tools necessary and a helping hand was not on my side so I sold it as a package to some lucky winner from North Dakota, his wife bought it from me in California and drove it home while her husband was deployed and on his way home
