Really? I don't think that looks nearly as good as the new SR5 front end.

    Yes.
Let's be honest, at least they didn't put the new 4Runner front end on it.

So... comparing the 3.5l in the '16 Taco to the 3.5l in the Camry or to the 3.5l in the IS350, which one is it most alike? It would be hard to believe that Toyota is manufacturing three different configurations of the 3.5l engine... I saw someone complaining about the '16 Tacoma's power, but the 3.5l in the Camry and Lexus are both actually very powerful engines. Any idea?

My 07 was totaled by a drunk driver. I bought a 2012 Camaro thinking that it would be a good choice from the Tacoma that was wrecked. I am going back to the Tacoma for the 2016 model. I think they look bad ass!!

I haven't driven either of those. Ive heard good things regarding the GM powerplants, and even the new Jeep engine.

Was hoping that with technology advancements in engines, the new 3.5 would of been more exciting.

Again.. My opinion might be biased due to the s/c.. I wouldn't mind driving one again.. But as of now, I'm actually going to talk to them again, but regarding a 15. That "Meh" feeling I got from driving the 16.. Was my justification for another 2nd gen.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yeah It could be the way is shifts or the sport mode but it felt like more. i lit the tires up and kinda pissed off the dealer. I said what you got a 2wd DCLB SR5 for your first one this thing is going to get the piss driven out of it before it sales! I was about the 10th person to test drive it and not a single one of them bought it they all are ordering TRD's well the ones that are buying that is. I've made up my mind I'm getting a Tundra DC or Crew max Limited or Platinum

How much are they charging for the TSS sport series package that the dealer has created for that Truck?
Its always pisses me off when a dealer adds aftermarket wheels and tires. Charges you a premium for them and then refuses to give you the stock wheels and tires along with the Truck. If I am going to pay for a second set of wheels I am getting 2 sets of wheels.

Not the dealer - Gulf States Region. They sell a shitload of those around here. It's an SR-5 with different rims, tires, stickers, and/or badges. Texas gets a Ranger's badge version 2. It's like $2K more than a base SR-5, and they do them in Houston before shipping them to the dealers.

Ok, I thought it was a dealer trying to gouge people.
Don't really care for those decals though.

I'm sure they all share a common 2GR block. It's the details that differ. The IS350 engine puts out 306 hp and 277 lbs ft of torque....making it the "most powerful". But I'm not sure where that peak power, and more importantly, where that peak torque comes in at. I'm sure the Taco's new engine, though less "powerful" makes better use of lower-end power.

Interesting note. The old 1GR (4.0) produced 266 lbs ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The new engine puts out 265 lbs ft at 4600 rpm. So the older engine has more useful lower end torque, which is important in a truck. But Toyota has supposedly worked around that with lower gearing.
