We've all hurt ourselves doing something stupid or doing something that does not typically or easily result in injury.
I purchased an inflateable water slide for my kids over the weekend. It is quite refreshing considering the low to mid 90's temps and high humidity in my area as of late. I had as much fun on it as the kids until I snagged some toes in a wrinkle in the fabric while going down the slide. I limped my way through work yesterday. Today I called in sick since my foot has swollen up and I have pain shooting all the way up to my knee. Tomorrow I see a doctor.
That is my most recent dumb injury. Now, let's hear some of yours. Tell us what you hurt and how you did it.

I made the mistake of taking my old bmx trick/street bike on some trails....Long story short: I wrecked!! I was coming down a hill at full speed, at around the middle of the hill there was a tree root sticking out of the ground. My front wheel hit it and i became airborne, I landed on both wheels but i felt that i was losing control of the bike. I lost control and fell hard on the bike. I stood up and i felt that something was wrong, my left leg was bleeding...I guess one of the pegs or the chain guard tore my leg open (i never did find out what cut me), but it ended up needing 65 stiches and a couple of staples :( To top it off, the cut later became infected (but thats another story)

Two years ago, I was messing around with a BMX bike someone had thrown away. This happened while I was working, BTW. This bike had rear pegs. With my feet on the pegs, I pulled up to do a wheelie.....pulled too hard. I landed flat on my back, the bike flew up 5-6 ft in the air, then landed on me. I sustained no serious or permanent injuries, but my back was sore for a few days.

Tried to catch a 5 gallon bucket of paint as it was falling off the shelf. Miscalculated how heavy it was and pulled me to the floor with my hands underneath it. Broke two fingers on one hand, sprained the thumb on the other.

Took my dad's doberman out to pee one night. Wasn't wearing any shoes. Middle of summer, hot as sh*t. Dog sees something, takes off, drags me across the asphalt 'cause I was too foolish to let the leash go. Had to go to the er, get all the rocks, asphalt, etc. picked out. For an hour. That hurt like a b*tch. Couldn't wear shoes for awhile. Learned my lesson.

Cleaning up the yard, in shorts, wife says that looks like poison ivy. Go back to planting flowers woman, I say. Two days later, I look like a leper from head to ankle. Come to find out not only did we have poison ivy, but poison oak and sumac in there as well. On the tail end of healing up, I say to myself, I'm gonna burn that stuff to the ground. Get out my trusty ice melter torch and go to town. Halfway thru, wife comes out of the house and says, you know you're not supposed to burn that, right? Two days later, covered again.
I hate it when my wife is right.

I used to ride mountain bikes a few years ago, before I got fat. We were going down a hill, at the bottom was a log jump. Not real big or real high. As I get right up to it, I get scared and grab the front brake. I go over the jump, and just on the other side is part of a tree root in the shape of a v. If you were to hit the jump right, you'd easily clear it. My front tire gets caught in it, bike stops and I go flying over the bars. Land on my back, knock the wind out of me and my back's all wet 'cause my camelbak split open when I landed on it.

I was looking for stuff a lttle more on the humorous side.......things you'd be embarrassed to tell your friends. But, you posted, so how many fingers are you missing? Or, were you able to save them?

I'm always doing dumb little stuff at work...cuts, bruises, muscle strains, etc.

But luckily nothing major recently (knock on wood).

A couple things when I was a kid..... My dad had an above ground pool. He never covered the pool in the winter. He put 2x4's on the edges to protect the lining and let it freeze. When the ice was thick enough, we'd go skating on it. Well....we were putting snow on the ice to make it super slick and I was in my sneakers, and thought I'd be smart and try to skate back-wards. I fell directly on my shoulder. Hurt like hell!! I knew I broke something but didn't know what. When I jumped off the side of the pool (4' drop), I felt this snap...OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worse thing ever, is break a collar bone. Long long long time to recover and try to set that sucker. Never did get it set right.

The next thing I did.... I liked to climb trees when I was a kid. I'd climb up as high as I could. One day.... I was up pretty high. I stepped on a half stub of a branch sticking out and it broke. Well....I went the whole way down. I think I passed out along the way down. I remember feeling 'whack, whack whack' up againest my head but everything was black. I woke up laying on the ground....with nothing more than scratches & bruises on my chest.

When I was in 4th grade at a school outing to the local park, I was playing on the monkey bars. I dove off the platform for a bar I couldn't quite reach, missed, and landed hands first with both arms locked straight. I broke both bones in my right wrist....5 days before school let out for the summer.

Dumb things....This is an EASY one.
15 years ago I had a MAJOR ant problem. They would not go away despite the use of every know ant poison. One friday evening, My Brother and I decided, enough is enough. I went to the store room, and started dumping chemicals into a spray bottle. Muratic acid, Bleach, Amonia, Paint thinner, Gasoline, somthing with a poison symbol, and contents from 2 other bottles. As I started spraying the ants, I felt the bottle getting warmer, I didnt care as the Ants were FINALLY DIEING!, Well, the bottle burst into flames, igniting my right arm and my brothers right leg. Now, There was a swimming pool 5 feet from us. I jump into the pool to extinguish the flames, while my brother is running down the street screaming! And his leg is still on fire! I had to chase him down, Tackel him, and put his leg out!

A few years ago. I was working on a project for my truck. I needed to hold a spring under tension. I needed a peice of bar stock, but the closest thing I could find was a lawn mower blade. I know. Well, The lawn mower blade had a nice hole already in it that fit the spring. I got the spring to the desired tension and began assembling my project. The spring snapped and the lawn mower blade struk me in the left hand. I saw a bunch of blood , but didnt worry too much until I saw my pinky dangling off to the side of my hand. As Im always getting hurt, I beat on the door ( Im at my parents house) to get their attention. My Mom comes to the door and just stares at me. I tell her, "I need to got to the hospital", she continues to stare at which point I say "this is not a paper cut!". She gets me to the hospital, and they re attatch the digit. The next day Im back at her house, and she starts laughing. I ask her whats so funny. She says "Chris, as there was blood all over the front of the house, I knew it wasnt a paper cut..........I was trying to decide if you needed EMS."

O.k.........So, I grew up near a private golf course. One day, a buddy and I were messing with golfers. We were hiding in the bushes and throwing things at them while they were teeing off. Well, one of the golfers spotted us and started chasing us. My buddy and I took off running. I was running hunched over and after a bit I stopped to see if we were still being followed. When I stood up I didn't realize I was right under the bucket of a parked back hoe. I ended up with 16 stitches across the top of my head and saw more of my own blood than anyone should have to see.

I do still have the scar which is quite visible when my hair is short. And, my hair has had a strange little wave in that area ever since.
