Okay, not all today, and I didn't do all the work myself, but in the last 3 days I had the hood and roof color sanded and buffed, had the base PreRunner grill shell painted. I washed, waxed, and treated the bumpers, headlights, and fender flares with Aerospace 303 protectant.image.jpg

Changed oil. Painted chrome surround. And added a more appealing (to me) grille.unnamed (5).jpg

    Got my sliders 85% done!

Still have a little welding to do, my welder doesn't like extended periods of welding

Nice to finally come across a PM 2nd gen with a TRD Pro grill - that's my color and I've been waiting to see how it looked before pulling the trigger. I like it, still wrestling with whether or not I can get over the price!

    Looks great.

The question for days was to drill or not to drill. Finally, I drilled. Antenna is in place and tuned.

TXTaco13: Paint can be purchased from any retail automotive paint supplier like Finishmaster, PPG, or a local paint buisness. Just need the vin number. Paint code is 4T3. Used Dupont Chromamax.

Thanks. Someone on here said they were able to get their paint color in a spray can. I don't have a compressor/gun to shoot it with.

Dupli-color from Autozone. Pyrite Mica may be a special order. My local AZ's keep the popular colors like MGM in stock. You can get "good enough" results with a shaker can but if you have friend or connection to someone with a gun and compressor would be best. I sprayed two medium coats of clear from a Nason shaker can with a very small amount of orange peel. Also there is a sanding equasion involved in this project along with several other steps of using a good adhesion promotor and primer coats.

Got my Husky liners, still need to buy the rear. Excellent fit straight out of the box. They settled tight to the floor after a couple hours. Excellent product!

I think we all say this to ourselves and then buy regardless :anonymous:

my only regret about my first vehicle is that it wasn't a first gen. I however fixed that problem with my second :D
