You guys know me too well,

I had to do the research and see for myself - This Truck Is A Go ! - Just Not For Me . . .

Basically if Lexus made a truck, this would be it.
Zero road noise to speak of,
cab is longer and taller, back seat height feels tighter due to 'stadium' style rear,
    seat is physically higher,
the engine management (Speak more on this is a sec) is completely locked out,
dove underneath and checked the frame - completely different,
seems to have beefier 4 leaf (3 spring, over load) tsb leaf packs,
spring perches, shock mounts, shock length look the same,
    UCAs looks the same,
    coil overs look the same,
spindles look wider, where rack&pinion connect is no longer horizontal but has 33 degree angle,
    LCAs look the same,
same design for front end alignment adjustments,
    cargo light,
tail gate comes off very easily - has keyed locking handle now,
    power everything but seats,
can come with sun (any model, I asked/checked) roof if desired,

The interior you all know about,
    seats are great,
steering wheel is same as later models,
push to start same as my Lexus,
door material, carpeting, plastic knobs, steering wheel buttons, air vents and accents same as my Lexus IS250,

Exterior has minor differences, sport has colored rear bumper, 17" wheels, hood scoop and a type of 'Bull Nose' bumper,
off-road still has chrome bumper, 16" wheels but no scoop or 'Bull Nose' bumper,
    off-road can be ordered with colored bumper ( I checked/asked )

The engine is locked out, does it have power, YES, can you unleash it at will, NO !
From a dig (dead stop, flooring and holding down accelerator pedal) was not able to break traction and burn rubber,
Rear end did not squat and dip down, most like due to no torque wrap of the leaf pack since engine management won't allow for wheel spin,
From a dig, wheels turned all the way to the right and mashing accel pedal,
Inside wheel squealed for split second then engine management took over for a smooth steady acceleration,
Great freeway engine, gobs of power passing and getting on the freeway to freeway speed from on ramp,

Bottom line if you want a more refined truck with all of the accoutrements by all means knock yourself out.
If you're an occasional weekend warrior and off-road, camp, go shooting once/twice a year this is for you,
The bar has been raised on the body, the engine has been configured for the urban jungle.

This is a great truck and will most definitely get one 4 or 5 years from now when I can pick one up like I bought my 07 in Aug of last year for $12,500 and 29,000 miles on it. I'll pay my truck off in 4 years and will see about getting one then. At only $250 a month for a car payment I like having the xtra monies for mods and fun.

At only $33,500 you get a lot of truck for the money, if you're in the market Toyota has yet another winner on it's hands.
Today, right now, this doesn't make good financial sense, but for many it does, and they'll be happy which ever way they decide to go . . .

Driving it made me come to this conclusion, just how solid the car feels, night and day, like driving an oldsmobile and a kia, one feels more solid and refined than the other . . . The truck has power, but it doesn't have that 'If you mash this pedal shit's gonna get real' aura to it like the 4.0 has. Our little baby has grown into a fine flower . . .

I like bouldering and chimneys. I think I did pretty good for it being my first day.
