well, i already ordered the spacers. Jeremy, these spacers are small and for additional lift, the big spacers are the ones that cause damage and wear (ask weston about that :D) but i don't want any more preload on the shocks. I ran them at 2.5 for 9 months and though I got used to it, i should have done the coils in the first place (which yes, at the time my budget did not allow). I been doing more reading and i think that after these new spacers the front will be where it needs to be. But i have a shit load of rear lift: stock non-tsb leafs, wheeler's HD AAL (leafs 1 and 2 are 2mm thicker), overload left in, and 3 * shims.

I ran spacers for almost the whole time pre-37's. I didn't notice anything additional. If you keep an alignment you should be fine.

OH WAIT. Wheel spacers or coil spacers? I still ran both pre-37's for most of the time :D coil spacers will wear things more. You're applying more pressure to the whole suspension. It will also ride more rough than normal with them.

this. I'm running top plate spacers which have no/very minimal effect on the strut assembly itself because they are not actually in the compression assembly.

So you're stacking spacers? Uuuuhhhhhh ok.

I agree with the other folks. Spacers, no matter how small, is not the best option. So you would rather replace added coils with a solid piece of metal (effectively making the coil spring longer but the shock strock shorter) which makes the ride stiffer then move the shocks up a notch and make the ride stiffer? Also if I'm following what you're saying, you're doing this as to try and match the rear more which has "a shit load of lift". Sounds like you need to address the rear suspension, not the front.

And Weston didn't break something because he had a spacer lift on. He broke something because he jumped his truck

Oh to add to my reasoning, I was running poly spacers so there was a little bit of give to them. I wouldn't run them again though if I could afford a different setup. I don't think i'd ever run solid coil spacers. If you have the money - as Gid said - go with something else.

Hey, you guys want to hear something funny?
Went to storage the other day to start my truck for the second time in the last year. Got over there and realized I didn't have my keys to it. So i got to thinking about it... My keys are lost. They went missing about 2 months ago in Miami. So I have no keys to my truck now. So now I get to order a new ignition and door key. Only about $100 all together but I still found it kind of humorous.

these spacers are not part of the strut assembly. All they do is add additional lift. The shock is not made shorter or the coil made longer. See it this way, I'm essentially lowering the geometry of the bucket.

We're in the same boat it sounds like. I'm at 22" front with 5100/884 and 24" rear with tsb leaves, wheelers progressive, and the overload remaining. I want a little more front lift so I'm planning to swap the coils out when I get ucas. I was thinking the 2.5 eibach would be the way to go, but you're not getting as much lift out of them as I would have expected. Maybe ome887s :notsure:? Hell, I don't know..

Yea, I used to be part of the ricer scene. lmao. Went twice, once with a blue bug eye WRX that was lowered with PIAA lights up front and a big turbo. Then the last time I went was with my 350z on gramlights and Brembo BBK with a built motor (heads, cams, LT headers, plenum, etc..) It's been a while since I went to an IA event though.

I was too when I was 16-18ish. We all start somewhere. I love WRX's. Wanted one for a while. When the tank was totaled I almost got an STI. Well, really I just considered it heavily. I'm starting to get into exotic tuning. We've got a sick CL63 that's been known to leave a few local ferrari's in the dust. Just recently got rid of a stock SLS AMG GT - now that was a fun car! Rode like a damn go kart though. A drive from Nashville to Hendersonville would about kill you. But you'd hit the AMG button and I've never felt a car throw you back so fast in my life.

I went with the eibachs because the are 620# and the 885's and 887's are 590#. I wanted a little stiffer for future weight such as a hybrid bumper or winch.

They're amazing cars. Mine was lacking under 3500rpm but I was running an 18g turbo so it took a bit for the 2.0 to spool it up. I've never been much of an exotic guy but the benz's are nasty. I wanna build cars when I graduate with my engineering degree and have my heart and eyes set on a GT-R and want 2,000hp+ as a claim to fame for a shop. Every since the WRX I've had a thing for turbo'd cars. My Wrx made 330+ awhp and was weight stripped so it was decently quick. I wanna get another one but it isn't practical nor would it be good for my driving record if I was driving one back and forth from Knox to Nashville often.

Out of all the cars I've driven, the cl63 is my absolute favorite. I don't remember what all was done to it but it was sick. And it has full night vision.
Oh man, the Bentley is v12 twin turbo and when those turbos spool up... ahhhh. You can barely hear it in the cabin but with the windows open it's phenomenal.
I used to daily the tank on trips like that. At one point I was doing IT for all the walgreens on the east coast. I used to have to drive 3 hours one way and then turn back around in a day or two and go the opposite way for double the distance. Poor thing.

Those Bentley's are nasty but absolutely fit the name "Tank" better than your truck does. hahah

I drive my truck to and from work in Knox twice a week but drive from Nashville to knox once or twice a month and its not the most ideal for the interstate drive, especially being stock geared on 35's. lol But I have to have it for when I'm moving stuff back and forth.

That's was my original thought too. But I'll probably never have a bumper. Sliders are ordered, and eventually an ifs skid will probably be all the weight I'm looking at. Either way, good luck.
