    You also have to give them ample room to make the catch and hitting them as soon as they catch it does not give them that room. If someone hits the receiver on a punt when they call for a fair catch its a flag 100% of the time. Unless theres a fumble.

    If a fair catch is called and the ball is caught, the play is dead, and contact between the kicking team and the returner would be a late hit.

    IIRC some of the losses he had vs. NE in recent years were still close games where Brady didn't play well due to the Jets D.

    The truth is that Ryan knows how to put together a defensive gameplan that gives Brady fits. If you don't like the word "handle", that's fine.

    It isn't just Brady either. Ryan's defense beat Green Bay at home last year too, recall. Ryan was also one of the architects of the vaunted 2000 Ravens squad, after all. You may not like the guy, but do NOT underestimate his defenses

    That's kind of the point... Brees had great stats but the rest of the team is so bad it didn't matter. How long is it going to take them to re-build it? Will Brees still be there, or at the top of his game?

    Yeah I hate it. The Saint's achilles heal is the same as it ever was - No run game and poor Defense, put's more pressure on Brees and that's when the picks start - he can't win the game by himself.

    That's the same thing I was thinking about Manning after watching him today - he just seems done.

    I think you missed my point, which is that Ryan has the knowledge and tools necessary to compete for the AFC East title. He has already had success in that division.
