If its freezing out the only thing that gets me out of me sleeping bag is a nature call.

I'm up in Yosemite right now and Tepui Tents appear to be all the rage.

My parents took me and my girlfriend on a trip up here for my Dad's birthday. We are staying in a condo. I'm gonna bring my tent up in spring with my girlfriend and camp on the valley floor.

It's not very crowded because school just started for most colleges and high schools and also there is a huge fire nearby which is making hiking and seeing the sights impossible. I couldn't even see el capitan from the base of it through the smoke.

Still you can tell this is an incredible place. My girlfriend and I can't wait to come back. We are actually heading to Napa today since it's so smokey here :/

Sorry we are in my dads new Yukon. Hate to admit it, but this car is legit. Feels like a rolling living room. Maybe that's why it costs 5 times as much as my taco.

    Thanks! I'll check it out!

I'm getting more confident with the truck off-road. It's never gonna be a crawler but that was never my intent.

That would be nice. I'll definitely have to plan a trip. I think our next trip is going to be camping at Big Sur. not sure when yet, but I've always wanted to go and it is beautiful. This truck and tent have given me the adventure bug. I'm glad that I got an adventurous girl who likes it just as much if not more.

When we were at the Grand Canyon I was pretty anxious being that far away from the road with no cell reception but she just starts exploring the area and having a blast. Made it a lot more fun!

I've been looking for something like that. Lately I've been just letting friends know where I'm going and when I'll be back! Yours is probably a better option!

Yeah. I normally do my research beforehand. Every trip is a learning experience. I'm getting better and better and loving every second!

I just traded off my fj cruiser for a 2015 Tacoma trd offroad. I had my cvt mt. Rainer mounted on a flat rack on top of the fj. Has anyone put a my. Rainer tent on the Baja utility rack? I've seen the smaller mt. Shasta tent but not a bigger tent.

Ok all you RTT owners, I'm thinking about pulling the trigger in one of these tents. Getting pretty tired of a ground tent. Already have an AllPro Pack Rack on my '09 short bed so my truck is ready to go. I think I've narrowed my options down to the CVT Mt. Bachelor and the CVT Mt. Shasta. From my understanding, both are the same size (sleeping footprint) except the Shasta has a 3' overhang on it to extend the annex room. Both come with the additional annex room already. Can owners of these tents tell me what they think about them, and if you could do it again, would you get the same tent? It'll be for myself, girlfriend, and 1 small dog. Thanks for the input. Also, can someone with the Bachelor clarify... the annex room only has 3 walls and no floor is this correct? Thanks!

Great info thanks for the reply. Im really really liking the extension, just not sure if its worth and extra 300$ But i kinda had that same idea of being able to enter/exit within the shelter is nice. Being able to change clothes and get into bed while being hidden from view is a major plus imo.

It does. Its a basic 4 person Coleman tent with a screened "porch" area and is the most used and enjoyed feature of the tent. I think the Mt. Shasta it is. Any CVT Mt. Shasta owners around to give me opinions about this model? Likes, dislikes, things you would do different, quality issues, etc.

How are you guys keeping you sleeping bags in the tent?

I bought this sleeping bag to keep in the tent. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F38YHI

It first the mattress area perfectly, like it was made for the tent, BUT I can not get the tent to close when folded. Its driving me nuts because it's huge when packed in it's bag and takes up more space than I'd like.

How are you all keeping sleeping bags and pillows up there and get your tent to close up? I'd appreciate any tips!

Being in the south I don't need a sleeping bag yet, so I have a sheet and pillow I usually leave in mine. So I'm not much help ha. Could throw it in a toolbox perhaps

Thanks! It's huge, will take up almost all the room in a large action packer, just to give you an idea of size.

I know what you mean. I added a anti-condension mat and while it's only about 3/4" it's enough to notice a difference when closing.
