most people have to finance vehicles. Nothing wrong with that. If your paying for it every month, its yours.

I employ the time value of money. If I can make more by putting my money elsewhere, I will use someone else's money.

Seriously?? Though I have a 2015, why would I pay cash when I get 1.9% on the thing? My money that is invested(quite a bit more than the truck costs) is making me more than 1.9%. I would be stupid to pay cash for this, I financed $17,200(I had equity in my trade) I'm going to pay a whopping $834 in interest over 5 years. If I invest it at 1.9% in 5 years I make $1,744, if I get the average stock market return of 6% While that money in the stock market makes me about $6,000 depending on how you compound the money.

Knock yourself out paying cash. I'll take some damn cheap money and put it to work for me.

I won't be paying full cash for my Tacoma. I will be paying half and financing the other half. I don't have credit history to buy a house so I plan to make the minimum payments for 2 years and then pay it off.

If the bank has the title, the truck is not yours. That is why they will take it from you if you don't pay. You aren't an "actual owner"

The weekend I pick mine up I'm driving up to Abilene to show my brother. Whoops.

We're also going to seal his garage floor like mine.

I wonder what extremely high speeds would be defined as? Hopefully 80/85 MPH is in the acceptable range - b/c when traffic moves around here that is a pretty common highway speed. Probably fine.

'Sudden Acceleration'? - Interestingly I have to go up a very steep hill as soon as I get on the highway - and it is a steep 2 mile hill. Every car is always in the power band trying to get up to speed and up that damn hill. This engine is going to have to rev I guess the question is how high and how hard.

There is definitely a school of thought about doing exactly that with modern motors. Some people will go so far as to tow to a track and hit redline for a while. That's hard core ... This is a Toyota.

Anyone know who owns one the farthest from Texas so far? I'm in Missouri and I haven't seen any at the dealerships up here yet.
