    My buddy Caleb that some of you might remember from the windrock meet is building his 6.0 right now. Doing a custom compound turbo setup with a 67mm and an 80mm turbo. Also 225/100 injectors, stage 2 cam, full bulletproof kit, oringed heads, building the trans, etc. He'll be around 750+ hp...it'll be a fun truck for sure haha.

    Sounds like it'll push a little more than that. I'm not the best on diesels, but what are internals good for psi wise? I feel like with that kind of setup he should make way more. My buddy's dura max put down 500+ with injectors, a fuel pump, and a tune

    That's not a surprising number to me. Diesels aren't known for their hp outputs. I'm curious why he even cares about hp numbers. With 750 hp he should easily be putting down twice that in torque. That's what he should care about. Otherwise why did he buy a big diesel truck

    He's doing ceramic coated pistons and all that as well. He might be in the 800's or more, it's just hard to make a 6.0 get that high of hp. And it'll be used to drag race, not pull.

    If he's doing internals and everything I don't see why he couldn't make 8's and 15-16tq. I bet he's gonna have at least 20-30k in just parts though.

    Interesting choice for a drag car ....... Why a compound setup? Is that a diesel thing? Why not just go with a single 88 or bigger? If it's a drag car, a single massive turbo should push more then a twin/compound setup

    Compound is a big diesel thing. Spools up the small one to begin building boost then spools the big one. It's because they don't rev very high so it takes a bit to get the big one spinning.

    Yea, the flow rate just isn't there to spool that big of a turbo quick enough. Because you've got 6 liters moving at 3500-4k rpm instead of a 3.4 (stroked 2j for example) spinning at like 7500 through a smaller tubed manifold.

    I'm sure it would spool a single 88 to full boost, but it'd take like 15-20 seconds.
