This one looks a little better, but it's hard to tell with the shadows. http://www.slashgear.com/gv/2016-toyota-tacoma-off-road-experience/

It's got some latches on each panel, I wonder if maybe the latches aren't fully clicked like on a door or tailgate if you don't close it all the way.

I actually like that solution from Toyota... you move them across when needed and then store them, like in the photo, when not in use to avoid more wind noise. Works pretty cool imho.

I noticed the same thing on the Tonneau on the SR5 I test drove. It was sticking up due to the rubber seal.

I do not like the factory cover... blah... I prefer the retractable aluminum one. Something like the one in this photo:

Wachuko, I see in your signature you are trying to decide between the Jeep and the Tacoma. For serious OR then go with the Rubicon! Cant beat it off the showroom floor. 2 different party animals!

These things are nice. If I don't like the tonneau in person I'll get one of these instead.

Any rack system work with those types of covers? I might just buy a shell instead. Not sure.

Is the back rail in the bed no longer on the 2016's? Looks like they just have the rails on the side. This is kind of a bummer, I use this rail often for mountain bikes with my mounts.

I am planning to do the fork mount when I get my '16 in. I am going to do something like this
    http://fcdn.mtbr.com/attachments/ca...truck-bike-racks-img_0378.jpg-2-1024x765-.jpg
but I am going to have the retractable tonneau cover like posted above and secure the fork mounts onto the top plate with reinforcing the bottom with some steel. Ill post a build thread once I get everything. Truck was just put on order.

Still undecided... The Tacoma provides a level of versatility that the Jeep can't match...while still being able to go off-road. I almost bought a Jeep...was down to signing the papers and something made me get up and leave... it was the color (they did not have the one I wanted and 2015 production had ended with the color I wanted being discontinued). So I almost bought a Jeep in a different color of what I wanted... this was a month or so back... thinking about it, I am glad that happened. I am now waiting to test drive the new Tacoma and then decide...

    Back to normal programming...

Cool, and I agree! Thats how I ended up with my 08 Taco. I had an 08 Unlimited Sahara and was not very good at being a hauler. So I bought the 08 single cab to haul crap to the dump or from Home Depot. Not to mention all the kids borrow the truck to help friends move. Ended up selling the Unlimited when it was 3 years old and had 15k miles on it. Mostly ride the Harley over going OR in the Jeep. If I get the itch then I will steal the Wifes 14 Sahara.....

The new JL (next gen Wrangler) is coming out in the next year or two so might should wait to see about that. I would like to hear more definitive information on it before I pull the trigger on a taco but my patience might wear thin.

Thats exactly how I have mine now on the rocky mounts, mounted to that back rail. But it seems on the 2016 that back rail does not exist.

Also figured this pic belongs here, here is a pic of a 2016 on the showroom floor in Albuquerque, NM. Larry H Miller on Eubank, not for sale its a fleet vehicle that I am told Denver is coming to do training at the end of the month for their staff.

The estimated delivery date of my '16 Tacoma OR is Oct. 21-22. I'll get rid of my JK Unlimited Rubicon the week prior. Though I enjoy off roading some gnarly trails (for me, at least), I'm looking forward to a more useful and practical pick-up truck that can still go off roading when needed/wanted.

When did you put in your order?

Even with me working in the automotive business I was given a 2/2-2/14 delivery window *sigh*
Have a call into my Toyota Fleet Rep to see if they can put a hot on the order so I can get it sooner
