The tv contracts are diminishing also.. hence why they keep moving to the channels half the people don't get.

You say tickets sales don't matter anymore.. which is funny because that means people are not watching the sport as much as they use to. Different era. Every race has turned into the same thing.. very few cautions.. and they typically are phantom debris. Long green flags run. I do see the increase in passing compared to last year.. but I miss the old days in bumping and banging not worrying about getting blacked flag or fined the next day.

Last race I went to was fall night race bristol 2010.. that experience was awful. Told myself I would never do that track again. I don't see myself going to another race for a while until things change. But that's my experience and opinion. To each their own.. no different than people's opinions on lifts or tires.

They'll loose fans, and one day it will hurt them....maybe.

I'd say 55% of the people I know who watch Nascar are disappointed in the channel issue and quit watching. I can understand.. I don't wanna pay $10-$15 extra a month to watch 2 channels.

Edit- I do pay extra but I have all sports channels. :anonymous:

Same. It was hard giving up the cable package but I only watched SPEED, whatever channel NASCAR was on and NBCSports. It wasn't worth it.

I'm just glad my parents and my gf's parents have the channels. Otherwise I'd never watch tv

yeah dude! Student ID and buying early is usually good for some decent savings. Talladega tickets are $10-$50 less if you buy ahead of time. They have that killer student special for next month going right now. $50 for two days of racing, college student only reserved camping spot and a ticket to the Saturday night infield shenanigans.

They've never asked me to show my student ID. The Talladega website just asks the ticket buyer to verify their student status. AMS just sells them to you online with no proof. I've gotten several friends in when I bought $19 student tickets for AMS. They don't care. More butts in the seats looks better on tv and better for sponsors.

Spoiler alert. Kyle Busch wins the chase over brother Kurt, Kevin Harvick and probably a winless gordon

Anybody but Joe Gibbs Racing. Pulling for Penske 'cause I'm a longtime Penske (Indycar) and Ford fan. Thumbs up to Jr., Truex and Newman too.

Truex is a cool guy, I hope he wins a championship for the small team.
