when do you change your transmission fluid?what type of fluid do you use,do you change the filter or drain and fill only?do you use any additives etc.this is not a question of what to do,but how you maintain your truck.

Have you checked with your owners manual?

Since you're in the 2nd gen section...
If you're talking about the Automatic transmission - it's a sealed unit and it's not required to change it until 100k miles.

    first off...where is the poll?!

    second off...

when do you change your transmission fluid?
100k, or 60k in severe service

what type of fluid do you use?
    WS fluid ONLY!!

do you change the filter or drain and fill only?
neither, complete dealer flush of system

do you use any additives etc.
    nope!

hope that helps...(i got all this from reading, but you could get it all in a 3 min search!)

EDIT: well then, i did a dealer flush at 108000 (picked it up used at ~85k), using WS fluid, no filter change for additives.

Like stang88 said, for a job like this we would have the dealer do it.

Most people here follow the recommended maintenance schedules in the owners manual.

If it were me....I've had he dealership do a complete flush, change whatever filters needed, and refill with full synthetics.

My only complaint..is the LACK OF A TRANNY DIPSTICK!!
I like to check thing and check them regularly. The fact there's no dipstick really bothers me.

wait, what?...you've been a tech for 24 years and are asking how to check a sealed trans...please let us know what dealership you work at so we can NOT go there if you are asking these types of questions after being there 24 years!!

    ...is this thread serious?
