Love this time of year as well. Great sleeping weather and you can finally shut the AC off.

Getting my new meats mounted. Still need to get the rear springs/ shocks installed but that won't affect the alignment and I'm impatient so getting tires put on now. 93c7b58484cef62e7def9e15a3c62d8b_2f3bea25cb63636f217f892d69195c1b1713c81e.jpg

Do any of you guys run a dedicated snow tire in the winter? The girlfriend and I make frequent trips into NH/VT over the winter to go skiing and of course, the best ski days follow a big storm which usually means driving in some of the crappiest conditions the northeast has to offer. I've run Nokians and Blizzaks on my passenger cars in the past but not sure what would work well on a truck. I'm thinking of getting something studded, I will have a second set of dedicated wheels set up with sensors, etc.

Kind of. I run Duratracs during the winter, but they're not a true snow tire and I don't have them studded.

I'm actually sitting in the drive in bay. Main waiting area is being renovated. It's fine, I have a direct view of my truck

Duratracs are a pretty common tire that gets recommended for winter use. They are generally considered the best AT tire for winter.

You could also take a look at the cooper AT/W. It's the AT3 with a crapload of siping. They are a new tire so not many winter reviews on them. however they have full depth siping where the duratracs are only sipied ~2/3 of the tread depth. Reviews seem to indicate they may surpass durtracs as the best AT tire for winter use. I just put a set on my wife's T4R and they look like they should be pretty beastly in the snow.

Driving reasonably for the conditions with a decent tire should get you where you want to go safely. That being said nothing beats a true winter tire in the winter, especially on ice.

I drive to Maine from MA a few times a week year round and have never had any issues running a good AT tire and driving prudently for the conditions.

That's an interesting looking Miata. No windscreen, wide body, weird cage? Is it something else with a Miata body???? Why is it at a Toyota dealership? So many questions. Looks like an awesome car though.

I was looking at it before. Looks to be set up for spec miata racing or similar scca events. I'm guessing it's one of the techs since it's been there for over a month. Maybe it's the owners, not sure. There's also a viper gts-r that the dealership owns

I bet it is. I got to ride in a few when I was autocrossing. They may look like girly cars, but they are an absolute blast to ride in.

Damn! Now that's a cool Toyota dealership. That Viper probably isn't cheap to own/ race though! If I had the money, I would totally pick up a 94/95 Miata. Would be such a fun summer car.

Got new front springs/ 5100s @ 1st clip installed Saturday. Still need to find time to get the rear stuff in. Had conference calls most of the day so I went and got my new tires installed. Front eccentrics are all froze up, fortunately they are frozen in spec except for caster which is like 0.1deg below factory spec

Tires look much better than the highway tires that were on there before. With the 5100s at the 1st clip the truck sits level/a hair low in the rear. Saggy springs are saggy. Need to get my sliders mounted back up too. So much to do, so little time.3368f047fa9e867f36fe530dafc59364_0db351f4eff7e5a393a5c6e67d08e2eb4f81061f.jpg

Haha thanks. Need to get my sliders mounted back up too. I hastily painted them in preparation for rausch creek and then couldn't go. Took them off to fix up the painting and haven't had time to fix/reinstall yet.
