2016 Tonneau Cover

I have a 2006 TRD OR AC and have a 2016 TRD OR AC on order that should be here in about a month. Between my dealer not being particularly good at their job and some sense of not feeling like the factory Tonneau was going to be very good (looks from the manual that full bed access involves removing the cover as it won't fold up against the cab) I didn't get the factory cover. I am planning on getting an aftermarket cover and was thinking the best route would be to get one for my 2006 and move it over to the 2016 when it arrives so I don't have to wait. Can anyone confirm that the 2nd gen cover should fit the 3rd gen? It looks like the bed got deeper but not longer or wider so they should just fit. Perhaps one of you lucky bastards that already has one can stick a tape on it?

 

Nope wont fit, the tailgate is different and thicker so covers like the Leer 700 wouldn't fit from the 2nd gen to the 3rd

 

damn, so I guess I get to wait until the aftermarket catches up...

my dealer told me that you couldn't get one on a long bed. That doesn't make sense to me but perhaps it is true...

I would just wait till you get specific 3rd gen cover, the bed caps on the 2nd gen are different from 3rd gen as well.
