    The kicker was I was number #9 in the draft lol... Actually my brother is a hard core fantasy guy... He pretty much did the draft for me... He is actually a Broncos fan. Living in Boulder CO..

    If I was a true fan boy I would have gotten Kaap and boldin too.. Which were also available at the time... Heck I think Kaap is still a free agent in my league...

    I was eyeing Hyde 3rd round (36th) in my keeper league and he went 2-3 picks prior. Sucked because picking 12th overall, 13th, and then 36th, 37th etc meant I had no shot at a top 5 RB. Champion's disadvantage...I made some good pickups over the 3 yrs so my 3 keepers were Andre Ellington (15th rd pick), Alshon Jeffery (16th), and ODB (18th). Can't keep anyone drafted top 3 rounds so there's always some good players to start.

    I ended up with Brees, Demariyus Thomas, Tre Mason, Ameer Abdullah my first 4. I heard some bitching after the 2 RB's so I guess I did okay. This league has a weird scoring so you really do need a good QB.

    An ugly win is better than a loss, way to many penalties killing decent drives. Hyde was the man of the hour. I think the Niner D is competitive with anybody in the league right now. We'll see how they hold up during the season. Dilfer is an idiot. I was muting his shit for a good portion of the second half.

    Overall, I was happy. Like you said, eliminate stupid penalties. The passing game looks weak. Per normal lately, I guess. Kaep accuracy still needs work. What surprised me was Vernon Davis. He looks very tentative. He used to run over people, now he goes down easy.

    Yeah, I noticed that. He may be a little rusty, we'll have to see. Kaps accuracy was woeful despite Dilfer's man crush on him. First game jitters? The D looks good though. I think they will give Ben problems next Sunday.

    Vernon Davis has never been able to break a tackle, even before that hit. He can't juke anyone either. He runs fast, but can't change direction fast.

    As for Dilfer, I think he was just making up for all the hate he was giving Kap last year. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but yea, it was a little excessive.

    Dilfer is not too bad, but he was last night. And Berman should never be allowed to do anything but highlights and news on ESPN. The two of them together were nearly unbearable.

    They've done the broadcast for the last couple of years for the 2nd MNF game. I only know bc the Niners have been the 2nd game on opening MNF before. It's always bad. But they have to because the #1 team (Chuckie and Tirico) have to be on for the first game - because it tailors more to the East Coast guys aka the only thing that ESPN cares about

    There's no denying that before that play (Chancellor hit on the sideline) Davis was operating at a B+/A- level for a TE in the NFL. Immediately after that play and since then he has been operating at a C level (I'm being generous). It seems to me like he's much more cautious and not comfortable with his role. I think a hit like that can have an effect.

    I heard Berman demanded to be on the call, he always wanted to be a play by play guy but he can't cut it. To appease him they give him the 2nd MNF game and some stuff around All Star games (HR derby) Because obviously we wan't to hear back, back, back ten thousand fucking times in a night.
