I heard the "I Am T-Pain" app has been doing really well in the 2016 Camry's Entune system. The Bluetooth calling integration has won awards.

Back in my youthful days, I had the illustrious title of car-stereo installer. I installed many a system in many a vehicle. They ranged from simple deck swaps to full-on sky's-the-limit show stoppers. This was in the late 80s, early 90s when it meant something to have a Rockford Fosgate mono amp powering a 4th-order bass enclosure in the biggest box you could fit in the vehicle.

I love music still. The teenager in me still wants to feel the bass and have a nice full sound stage. But the 45 year old me enjoys terms like 'all the options', 'resale value' and 'warranty supported'.

So that's why I chose the JBL option.

BTW, my wife calls this my mid-life crisis truck. Now if I only it would get here already so I can take my crisis off road.

Here's my two cents, the truck that I'm trading in is an 09. I bought 2 of theses trucks at the same time, 1 for me and 1 for my wife. Her's came in first. For some reason the stock stereo's were really bad in 09. I started ordering parts before mine even came in. 4 days after getting it brand new, I tore the entire interior out of it to put my own system in. I used to put in pro systems, so there was no holding back and I defiantly new what I was doing. Liquid cooled Polk audio/Alpine/Sony, 3 different dedicated amps/ twin 8"subs, crossovers in the doors, molded fiberglass, the whole ball of wax as they say. What I'm getting @, is I had just shy of $3000 into it @ my cost, that I knew that I'll never get back and if I dear tell the dealership to what extent that it has been modified, they'll for sure ding me on it for not being factory. Although I know that its a major step down because I went so radical, I'm still going with the JBL system so that I have something above bare minimal.

After much thought, I would sacrifice the seat storage for the JBL system. I figured investing in the sound system since being inside the Tacoma is where I will be spending the majority of my days would be a good justification for that and also "something above bare minimal" makes sense to me too.

Now my the internet sales manager thinks I am super indecisive (changed my mind 3x so far)

Aah who cares what he thinks, he probably looks at dirty sites all day.

Btw, don't know if you missed my comment or realize, that even if you went aftermarket and didn't get JBL, you'd end up losing even more behind seat storage (most of the time, with most sub set ups/boxes etc).. So if that was a concern it'd be more reason for you to go JBL route. Also if you do go JBL and want to further improve the sound and it would, spend the time and properly sound deaden the truck, there is plenty of info on here about it. You will definitely noticed a change in sound for the better.. For one of the obvious reasons of it blocking out road noise, the other being it will help deaden vibrations where applied. Just some food for your mental snack bar to munch on and digest.

Also @Rock Lobster you should think of sound deadening yours if you haven't already. It'd help either way, if you kept or went with another set up.

For anyone looking to thump but still have a clean factory-like install take a look at the JL stealthbox's. Factory-like fit/finish and those things pound while still retaining better SQL than pretty much anything else on the market.
