I'd like to see this OR wheel with some beefier tires. I bet it wouldn't look too bad!

Sorry guys. Holy smokes gotta say I waited for this thing with drooling anticipation for 6 months. Went to get a DCSB OR over weekend and no friggin way. H-I-D-E-O-U-S. Wheel wells screwed up, fat lip in front jacked, black tape on b pillar is awful, lines don't flow, paint seems dull... All in all I was hoping it would look better in person but was really disappointed. The grille even looks worse in person! I wasn't really sold on exterior before - it was the interior that I was really excited about and that's just f-ing crap. Cheap cheap cheap flimsy plastic - worse than gen 2. Flimsy knobs, dash materials - everything. I couldn't bring myself to waste my time to drive it. Was just stunned and walked away shaking my head in disappointment. The two bright spots are the tailgate and seat material - really like those. This is just my humble opinion, and I know I'm in the minority, but maybe I expected better. I just feel overall material quality took a nosedive. I've been a lifelong Toyota guy (76 FJ 40 in garage) and now I feel totally lost. Maybe now F150? Silverado? Sorry guys.

Camelback Toyota in AZ had 12 in stock yesterday and still 12 today. Wonder if they are just asking too much for them. After all, its basically the same truck as 2nd gen.

Its interesting to read the various reactions. Some love it some hate it. I'm hoping I'll like it when I finally get the chance but won't hesitate to walk away if my reaction is like yours. I pretty much have that reaction every time I get near a Nissan - couldn't tell you why but I just don't like them at all.

Ugh! Just called my dealer for an update (today was suppose to be the build date). Looks like dates got pushed back 2 weeks.

The Inventory Manager was not aware that '16 Tacomas have actually been sold anywhere in the US yet. It's amazing how much more we (on this forum) know than the ones who order and sell these vehicles. If I were a salesman (God forbid), I'd like to think I'd do my research so I could be more informed than the customer.

The problem is that a salesman has so many more models, of more than just one model year to think about and sell, while people on this forum have been researching every little piece on the truck for the last 8 months. I agree some salesmen could do with a lot more training and knowledge, but being an enthusiast puts you in a unique position sometimes.

Understood! But salesmen should do at least a little research about an upcoming/new, highly anticipated model that they plan to sell. It’s not like we’re grilling them for HP/torque/MPG numbers, every little option available, minute differences between the previous model year, etc... They don’t seem to know the most basic information. A 16 year old who sells video games (many more than just the dozen or so Toyota models) knows much more about upcoming games than a car salesman knows about an upcoming $35-40k vehicle. Just sayin’ (and venting).
