I suspect these trucks will be going for MSRP for a few months. Was at a dealer Sunday that had received one '16 Taco, and they sold it the same day for sticker.

Shit, even the 2015's were selling for only ~$1k - $1.5k under MSRP weren't they?

Edit: Also, called a dealer yesterday and their next 6 allotments were all 4x2...dafuq...

Yup, fanboys in action that are paying this kind of money just to have the latest on the block ( likely with no test drive)

    More money than brains.

Seems to me like Toyota Corporate might want to know some of their dealers are essentially price gouging customers. But who knows, maybe Toyota Corporate doesn't give a s***.

Some dealerships are selling the Tacoma for invoice + 500 - 700. There are some dealers trying to take advantage of the slim supply right now.
Wait till summer/fall when they have a bunch on the lot.

Logic tells me that given this is the 3rd Gen 1.0, it's better to wait at least 6 months if not until next Summer to see what Toyota has planned to fix, the number of recall issues (if any), let people put some mileage on these and see how they really like them. By then the price will drop $5k or more in some cases from what people are paying today.

I'm ignorant here, but $500-$700 over invoice seems reasonable to me...?

Just another Toyota Dealership to avoid. It's unfortunate that so few dealerships value their reputation. If they're willing to blatantly price gouge you on a vehicle, they'll likely try and gouge you on service, parts, etc...

I guess they don't care, unless I'm reading the Yelp review wrong, lol...

the 500 to 700 over invoice is reasonable. imo
The adding 10K over msrp like the OP stated is not.

That is what I was referring to in regards to in trying to take advantage.

Bought mine at the end of the first 2nd gen release (2005). After all the must havers get theirs, the price pretty much stays the same. $5k lower? I dunno about that.

Friend of a friend got screwed on a Tacoma purchase back in the day. Contract was for $27k on a regular cab, no frills new Tacoma in 2007 after the financing was all said and done. He skipped out on the payments and moved back overseas. lol

I checked with our dealer in town, and they are selling the 2016s for full sticker before they arrive at the dealer. They said that if I wanted to see one in person or test drive one it would be december or january before they would be stocking them on the lot. They are also only ordering double cab high end versions untill next year unless a customer orders one. Its a bit nuts

One can never have too many light bars.
I bet the dealer took a stock SR5, threw a set of spacers, wheels and bulky tires on there and marked it up $5K.

Dealers have been putting market adjustment surcharges over MSRP on the sticker of popular new models for a very long time. I wouldn't ever pay it, but some must or they wouldn't do it. In a voluntary transaction, both parties have to agree on all terms. Not evil, just business.
