Well. Arkansas showed our true colors this weekend. I was at the game and the entire environment was awful. Fans were dead, team was slow and getting their ass whooped and then when we had a chance, Allen chokes; twice. There will be plenty of alcohol to make it through this season.

i was just wondering to myself, how is alabama's schedule ranked #1 for SOS, since its pretty similar to everyone else in the SEC west minus the fact that they dont play themselves (which would make everyone else's harder since alabama is/was the highest ranked west team when the SOS numbers came out) i dont understand this logic.

This is going to be a short hard week. Thursday game v Clemson. Need a big win, tired of close losses and turnovers costing games.

Hope Clemsons win this game. Mainly due to the fact that I can not stand Todd Grantham.

SEC West Out of Conference / Out of Division
    • Alabama
      • OOC: Wisconsin; MTSU, La Monroe, Charleston Southern (FCS)
      • SEC East: Tennessee, Georgia
    • Arkansas
      • OOC: UTEP, Toledo, Texas Tech, UT Martin (FCS)
      • SEC East: Tennessee, Missouri
    • auburn
      • Louisville, Jax St (FCS), San Jose St, Idaho
      • SEC East: Kentucky, Georgia
    • La State
      • McNeese State (FCS), Syracuse, Eastern Michigan, WKU
      • SEC East: South Carolina, Florida
    • Miss. State
      • So. Miss, Northwestern St. (FCS), Troy, La Tech
      • SEC East: Kentucky, Missouri
    • Ole Miss
      • UT Martin (FCS), Fresno St, New Mexico State, Memphis
      • SEC East: Vandy, Florida
    • TAMU
      • Arizona State; Ball State, Nevada, Western Carolina (FCS)
      • SEC East: South Carolina, Vandy
For OOC, most play one decent team and three easy Ws (well, they're supposed to be easy Ws, auburn and Arky). Everybody plays one FCS team.

I think Wisconsin and Arizona State are the best two OOC teams played, so that's part of it. The biggest difference is the cross-divisional play. Alabama drew the short straw, having to play Tennessee and Georgia. The next toughest cross-division schedule (IMO) is La State w/ USCe and Florida.

I think preseason schedule had 7 ranked teams. The barn, the vols, and the hogs were preseason fluff and now the SOS is probably weaker even with aggy moving up.

Well the resident Updykes above were kinda close with their explanations. However, where your conference games are played plays a huge difference in SOS. The Suck Ass Tyde has to travel in a couple of their biggest (on paper) games. Last year, Auburn supposedly had the hardest, traveling to Ole Miss, Miss St., Georgia and Bammer.
