I run dedicated studded snows on mine. I currently have General ArticMax sized 265/75R16 that are studded on my steelies. Not a great snow tire in the deep stuff as it'll float a lot. On my last truck, I ran cooper MTs, studded as well, 255/85R16. Those were a lot narrower and had great grip but they were on a '96 Cummins 2500 so I had plenty of weight on them. My next set of studded snows will be narrower as my wife's Forrester XT runs the same studded snow in a 'minus' size for the car and they have all sorts of traction. I always run studs as I found since CT did away with the sand/salt mix in favor of the liquid rust the roads seem to glaze over a lot faster than in the past.

I run a set of 265/70-16 Hankook I-Pike RW11s mounted on a set of stock TRD OR wheels in the winter. They are not studded. I found them to be terrific in the winter. My current BFGs weren't bad per say, but I didn't like how easy it is/was to trip the ABS with the OR's electronic brake booster, especially with the BFGs. The Hankooks do a good job at minimizing this. I originally had planned on going with a 245/75-16 but at the time I was specificing a package and the only wheels Discount Tire had that weren't super brotastic were 8.5" wide, so the 245's were outside the tire spec. I ended up swapping back to OEM wheels and wish I went 245. Granted, both of those tire sizes are going to look silly come this winter with the lift.

I rewired the side markers to work with the directionals. Added some mirror brackets so I can have mirrors when the doors are off. Added some of the rubber floor mats that hold all the sand and snow. It is holding up well considering it only has 12K. I haven't decided if I am going to lift it yet. If I do it will be the same as the Tacoma, just a 2 or 3 inch lift. I added a HF hoist to the ceiling of the garage to make top removal a one person job. Lastly made a 4 wheel dolly to land the top on so it is movable in the garage

It's all good. It is in the back of the driveway just waiting for you. When the bride complains that we look like the Beverly Hillbillies then I will push.

Was looking at a dirt bike this guy was selling, but when I asked him to send a picture of the vin # he got a little weird and kept making excuses. I told him no, that I changed my mind and didn't want the bike and he went off like a ballistic missile. Think I dodged a bullet with that one

I installed a 3 inch lift on my buddy's 4 door jk last year . Very simple install . Took us maybe 2 hours with a floor jack and stands .
