Just had my last truck totaled last month. Make sure to negotiate with insurance. Do not take the first offer they give you. Look up your own comps and also note any aftermarket stuff. I even got an extra $1K because I kept mine in garage at night and parking garage at work.

 

This ^ i was talking about that one time driving with a friend " I wish someone would hit me and I can get this damn scratch fixed" and before I finished the sentence BOOM! I was hit from the side pushed into oncoming traffic and hit a car head on!

Make sure they cover the cost of the truck, try to get 10-15k pain and suffering. If it was me I would get a lawyer and let him get as much money as he can. I totaled out my BMW x5 when someone slammed into me while stopped at a red light. I just let the insurance handle it, I ended missing 3-4 days work and it took up a ton of time to deal with it. Time is money. In the end I figure I lost about 10k in wages if you factor in my hourly wage and the time I invested on dealing with insurance, tow trucks, car dealers.......and so on.

 

I also was almost 2 hours late to a once a year customer meeting. I had 30 people fly in from around the nation. How do I recoup the cost of looking bad?

 

If they don't total it I'd get it fixed as cheap as possible pocket rest and trade it off. Wouldn't think twice about keeping it.

 

Glad you all are safe. You may want to go car shopping sooner than later if you want a 15.

 

Take out your sub, amp, Cai, and any other aftermarket goods. Gey are going to total it. They will keep whatever is in the car after they look at it to assess the damage

Good to hear that both of you guys are ok! It's hard for us all to speculate off a photo. There's definitely a lot of damage considering the airbags and rear axle. If it was up here in Canada these trucks hold there value so well I wouldn't be surprised if it was fixed. But down there I could see it being closer. And just before anyone jumps in saying I don't think the Tacos hold value in the states I just mean that the cost of them up here is so much more in relation to you guys pay down there.

If your after a '15, better get on the stick and find one.

no way. I'd rather get a slightly used 15 over a brand new 16. All day long
