Coming from a 2012 (and a 2010 before that) I think this truck doesn't have the same fueling down low. It delivers the power more higher up - in my opinion it's smoother likely tuned for fuel economy - but step on it and the thing rips. What I notice most besides the looks, is how quiet the truck's interior is. They've made definite improvements on cabin refinement. Its not head and shoulders better, but it's just more solid feeling. The tailgate is way beefier, heavier, as other's have noted, not that I ever felt that the original (2nd gen) was under-built... I like the looks - I agree the front grill looked too big initially, but now I'm digging the looks of that even. (kind of like when I first upgrade to my iphone 6+ thinking it was huge, but now I just think it's normal size) Toyota really made a great truck, I'm still pinching myself that I bought one of the first ones the dealer got.

Thanks for that, this is an odd request but if you ever get a chance can you take a pic of the inside door preferably the door seals. Im looking to buy the outer seals of 3rd gen and put it on my 2nd gen Tacoma just wondering how it looks because the 3rd gens have 1 more outer seal then 2nd gens to help with road noise.

Nice truck OP! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? Toyota Escondido quoted me MSRP and wasn't willing to negotiate.

Any reason you got the Sport vs TRD Off-Road? Nice color pick.
