TRD supercharger availability update

Make sure the headers have the air injection stuff for 2012+

 

As far as I know, they do. I'm just paranoid about the emission stuff....as far as being able to pass and not have problems come time. Just to double check with you guys though...he told me removing the rear cats(which the y-pipe will do) will not hamper the emissions. There are the 4 O2 sensors, 2 before the front cats and 2 after so I shouldn't have a problem.....this sound right to you guys? As far as removing the rear cats and not having emission problems??

Dude, that's why I haven't altered the manifolds, but when I do, they will be the shorties. It's my DD, and I don't have time for issues.

I had to change mine out. I was basically forced to or else my truck wouldn't run. The supercharger was an afterthought because I had the funds available for it at the time is all. As far as the fuel pump upgrade for the 2.85 is concerned I would do it. You don't want fuel starvation at the top end! Even if the AFR reads correct you don't know if the fuel pump is having issues keeping up with volume demand.

 

i been eye balling the urd spec u header for the 2012+ and the spec u full exhaust system. it looks like the perfect combination. add in the urd o2 simulator = no check engine lights

smog wise, in california now anything 2000 and above does not have to do a sniffer test. they do a obd2 scan for any check engine lights and the emissions monitors. they still have to do a visual but a truck with full skids and lots of dirt and mud, the tech may overlook that issue.

 

I didn't like the way the Spec U Exhaust system sounded. The extra resonator they added gave it to much of a euro ricer sound to me. The Mark III 3" exhaust sounds alot beefier to me.

 

true the mark III sounds better on the 6sp vs the autos. i just wish i can hear the full spec u exhaust system in person.

 

The Mark 3 sounds better than the Spec U full system, but the Mark 3 does have a bit of a rasp at higher rpms. Thats just from 2 less cats....the Spec U needs two mufflers because of no cats with the headers as well, but to me ends up sounding like some european sports car. The Mark 3 to me puts out a pretty aggressive rumble, and you can get it and the y pipe for a good $500 less than a spec U.

Haven't checked in here a while, didn't know there was a shortage. Or, rather, none available. Mine was installed in early may. Took it to a dealer out of town, that had experience installing these things. $5700 and change. There really is a substitute for cubic inches.
