I've ordered a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport w/ premium+tech (moonroof) sight unseen. My "contract" with the dealer allows me to walk if the interior dimensions don't work for me plus some car seats.

I have seen some concerns about headroom. Anyone 6'2"+ that has sit in a Tacoma with moonroof? Is a forward facing car seat going to fit behind me?

    Thank you in advance.

I just sat in one on Monday and I'm 6'5". You know, I didn't even think to see how much head room I had on this new truck compared to my 15'. But I didn't have a problem so it didn't even ring a bell with me at the time. It felt roomy to me. Take it for what it's worth.

Is there more headroom when getting in out out. I am only 5 10 and when trying a 2015, I had to be cautious not to hit my head. I read that the door opening seems a bit higher on 2016? Can you confirm? While seating, everything was ok with enough headroom.

Wierd. If you look at some of the early YouTube reviews there were a couple of guys who said they were 6'1" and said their head was brushing against the top of the headliner.

A sun/moon roof is going to cost you upwards of 3" of headroom. If you are close now without one than you'll likely be too close for comfort. Bought a '13 camry with a moonroof and I had to recline the seat back like Shaq in that Buick commercial just to not hit my head on the roof.

Bought a limited yesterday. Im 6'4" and sit comfortably. My seat is all the way back and the wheel is scoped all the way out but i dont feel cramped. This was my biggest fear when i had ordered the truck, but it seems to be a non-issue.

I have plenty of head room in my 2015, so I wouldn't think the '16 would be an issue for me. I am 6' 2'', but have a long torso.

It's totally relative. I'm 6'7 with 35" legs and a long torso and I fit comfortable and have lots of room. I've never touched my head on the door frame or anywhere else.

Other guys are 6'1 and 32" inseams and they swear they hit their head every time they get into the seat.

You're not that tall so you could be okay with the dropped ceiling the moonroof adds, but I would try and put my ass in one and see, it's really the only way to know.

I know this is not what you asked.....but, I have a 1st gen tundra access cab and had 3 car seats at one time. One rear facing. It was real tight. I don't think you will any issue unless you want it directly behind your seat. Then it ay be tight. Otherwise, behind the passenger for rear facing. Everything else should be fine.

I missed the car seat part.

I can't fit a rear facing seat behind the driver's seat while I'm sitting in it. It either goes behind the passenger seat, or if I need to fit someone large there, I have the car seat in the middle, it fits there perfectly with both front seats all the way back on their tracks. Problematic if I need to fit 2 car seats at the same time, but I also didn't necessarily shop for the smallest rear facing seat available. I think @scocar has one that is near the bottom of the size spectrum, but his pics still didn't look particularly roomy.

    Huh WTF? Napping. Shhhh.....

Chicco Keyfit 30 is among the smallest (shortest from front to rear) and lightest. I have mine in the middle, and if I lean into it, I can attach the LATCH hardpoints from either rear side seat.

If I put it in the passenger rear seat, the passenger front needs to be pushed forward of course, and my 5'6'' wife found the position to be likely tolerable for longer trips (that we haven't done yet) of up to several hours, which was out priamry concern for long distance travelling/camping.

I don't have pics of the front seat with a passenger when the infant seat is in the rear. This is the best I have now:

Thank you for all my replies. Both of my children are forward facing...so I should be good...but maybe lots of seat kicking.

That was actually a bonus on the '15 SR5: the front passenger seat has a hard plastic back so you can fold it all the way forward flat and use it as a work surface. I see it as kid kicking armor. Folded down, it is also a handy changing station when on the road.

Holy fuck has my world changed...o_O
