Well I drove up to kansas to circle D trailers and bought a flat bed for $775 new after taxes about $800. Totally worth it. I added my spare and mud flaps and other useful stuff.

That looks cool, but can someone explain to me the draw of having a flatbed like that? What specific purpose does it serve? Just curious

Awesome mod and great price too but how does this affect payload?

I was really surprised at such a great price.

The truck is a ranch truck and a flat bed is more useful for me. If you work on a ranch then you will understand but it depends on your preference and taste.

The bed winch is used to pull deer in the basket rack and easier for me to load anything.

When I had the bed it was a pain in the ass reaching in and grabbing feed and other things. But for the price you cant beat it. I had a bushmaster 2.0 bumper before and it served its purpose going through brush.

The bed weighs 600 lbs but you dont feel it and to tell you the truth I get 24 mpg before I was getting 22 mpg even with all the wieght...now its more aerodynamic I think since it has a smooth ride and quick pick up as odd as it sounds. Even though the bed didnt weight anything I did notice a better difference.

I added a hellwig 981 to help with the payload. Later I will up grade from stock springs but for now its alright. The up travel doesnt rub the tires before it did but I could of raise the bed higher with higher channel iron. Im running 245/75 r 16 beofre I had 265 and didnt like the ride or bigger tires...the 245s ride so much better.

I put a flat bed on mine for a few reasons, main one being that the factory bed was disintegrating. Also to get rid of the wheel arches, it really frees up a lot of space. And they're also nice to have because you can bang around with them and not really worry about damaging them. And +1 for that price. That is crazy low for what you got. I paid $700 for mine to get fabbed and it isn't nearly as fancy

Bigger work area for one. Looks cool.
Worked with a guy cutting hay. He had these border collies they'd ride on the back, no problem.

    Here is the link

    http://www.circle-dtrailers.com/Home.html

Shelby dirks is the owner and it took about a week to make the bed.

Its a generic midsize bed 5' 10" wide by 5 1/2' long but they can make it any size you want.

They dont ship. and their distributors sell it for double and triple the price. they dont have distributors south of kansas.

You getting it directly from the maker would explain the crazy bargain of a price, the cheapest I was quoted here in VT from a professional outfit was $2400 bucks. Hence why I went to a mom and pop style fabricator. Hope yours serves you well!

I guess I don't use my bed currently enough as it is to get it. Does look rad though.

I was quoted $3,200 here is south tx and $2500 and $1600 so when i went straight to the manufacturer it worked in my favor because I was not near any of his distributors.
