So i am going to have about 4 relays under the hood and want them all to only be on when the truck is. I have a fuse tap from the fuse panel im wondering if i can run all 4 of these off that one since its relatively low power to open the switch from what i understand. The devices are powered off the actual direct power coming in. Is 4 too many? 12gauge wire.

I built a little panel with room for five relays on it and bolted it to the two holes where the clutch fluid resevoir would be if there was a man pedal in my truck.

I used 8awg with a 50amp fuse from the battery to the distibution block near the relays.

Pics and stuff in build thread behinsd link in signature.

Can you trigger four relays wirh one 12awg wire, yes. Can you run all the downstream accys - it depends, but probably not. What arw tou going to power with the four relays?

I am building the same panel idea with a fuse box. Lights are on the relay and a gps, and a cb radio.

Led or halogen or hid lights? It all comes down to how much cuttent you are wanting to draw.

I have the power cable (usb) for my gps pulling through a 3 amp fuse and staying full chargwd no problem.

Ought to be a tag on the back of your cb... my last one (1980s) had one power cable to hook up.

Fwiw the coil side of typical bosch automotive type relays prob draw about 0.3 amps each, so triggering four relays with four separate dash switches through a single 1.5 amp fuse should be ok. That wont work if you are -also- trying to draw 200 or 300 watts through the same fuse to run big lights and a radio.

You will be fine as long it's the coil side of the relay. Pins 85,86.

ya they are all on relays which get power straight from the battery. The relays active switch are ran from the ignition power in the truck which just turns them on or off and doesnt actually power them

HID's, LED Dash swap, LED reverse lights, 15"x10" 5 slot mags, sliding rear window, 20gal aux. DS fuel tank,
You should be fine with drawing the power from the add a fuse for only switching the relays.
