If I'm not mistaken, you have to run a pretty big wheel spacer with that kit to move the tire/wheel outboard enough so it wont hit the shock.

 

i wouldn't call 1.25'' big. a 1.5'' would be best i think. its only for 2.0 shocks as well no 2.5s

 

Yes this requires 1.25" spacers according to TC. I am using the spidertrax 1.25 spacers.

Well, not for you. I guess it depends on ones perspective. Of course, if we look at frank, 1.25" is not big. But compared to a .25" spacer? Diff story.

I'm with you on that. There are a few reasons a .25" spacer is a bad idea. IMO, it's better to have the correct wheel in the first place, rather than use a .25" spacer to make the wrong wheel work.

 

It was painted at Maaco. There's been a lot of evolution over the past 5 years.

What kind? there is a 2 leaf and overload and 3 leaf and overload. the 2 leaf is trash, you dont want that. The 3 leaf when set up right and softened up a little have worked like a dream for me. I wouldn't say ive lost weight capacity, ive certainly gained it over the factory pack. And I think it rides better than the factory pack as well.

It will just take some pretty extensive work to install them, since you cut out basically everything.

 

The grille is a good place to start, I've had issues with peeling paint on the bumper.

 

What did you do for prep on the grille, or did the paint shop handle that?

 

what did you use? is this monstaliner?

 

Yeah it really is only noticeable on the door I think. Looks good though.

Let me know how it works, seriously researching this for my truck and already have the 1.25 spacers in back.

 

Hey thanks guys! Im not worried about weight. I don't plan on any additional weight besides a swingout ( huge maybe). My buddy already has them for me and is willing to weld them up for me. I just have to locate the hardware, ruffstuff or trail gear im assuming. I'll have him send me a pic to see if it's a 2 or 3 leaf... im more worried that it will ride rough?? Will my 5100s be ok? Do I need extended brake lines?

I have some recent experience with them as I took a rusty set apart and cleaned them, put new bushings and isolators and pins in. The 1/2 ton are 3 leaf and the 3/4 Ton are 4 leaf both with overloads. As you can see in this picture I removed the overload leaf and added a small 5th leaf I had lying around. That leaf will probably be removed as it should be longer but I'm going to see how it works, I have no experience with the 2 leafs as I haven't seen them ever.

Anyways I would try and find the 4 leaf 3/4 ton, you'll be fine as they are meant for a 3/4 ton full size Chevy, weight won't be a problem, they are soft and will hold weight. Ask @thegame he runs them and was the one who gave me advice when I was looking into it.
