My wife took my Taco to go pick up my daughter tonight, made it about a 1/2 mile from the house and BAM!!!! A swamp donkey wiped out the front of my truck. Did a quick inspection, grill, both headlights, bumper cover, radiator, AC condenser, support, lots of bent brackets, etc. I'll take a better look and post pics in the morning.

From the outside it doesn't look so bad but Bambi's head must have went through the grill. A lot of damage underneath, I can still hear the AC condenser hissing this morning, hood doesn't seem to set or latch "right". I'll be calling the ins co tomorrow.

Bummer, hope all is well with passengers.
Deer are running wild all over the States, we have killed off all the predators and nothing is keeping their numbers in check.

Glad to see that everyone is ok. Now is a perfect opportunity to mod the front end if you want.

    Hate to see that!

I live in a fairly rural area and have hit 3 in the past ten years. Most recent was a head on with a Suzuki Burgman at 50mph!

    They are a huge problem

Got the estimate from the body shop & approved by the adjuster, $4781. Parts are ordered, should be done sometime next week.

Only changes are a 2011 silver sport grill instead of chrome and blacked out headlights. I'm keeping the stock bumper, for now. My truck is mostly stock and I plan to keep it that way, I may add a brush guard or something similar later.

I'd say you made out in that deal. Maybe I should be looking for an animal to plow into so I can get my grill and headlights done like this as well. Way to make good out of a bad situation.

....thing is, I just bought 2 sets of HLs, the ones that got busted(OEM) and a set of aftermarket black ones. Put the OEMs in to replace the originals that were cloudy, was waiting till I replaced the grill to install the black ones. Ironic!

I hit a deer in my '01 Tiburon, was driving the bypass around Indy at night, all I saw were legs coming out of the air right in front of me, it must have jumped the fence, most of the damage was on the hood and front end above the bumper, I don't think it even landed, both airbags deployed, deer didn't break the windshield but the airbag cover on passenger side did, compression from both bags going off simultaneously blew the sunroof completely out, over nine grand in damage, that had to be ten years ago, ever since then I've had deer whistles on all my vehicles, and my wife's as well, no close calls for either of us, but when we see deer ahead other cars just drive by, the deer look up as we approach, for the couple of dollars, I think they're worth it

Sorry to hear that. Busted my oil cooler, condenser, radiatior, bumper grill , good & windshield . The air bags going off distroying dash was the determing factor for the truck being totaled according to the adjuster. Done $11,375.50 damage to a truck I paid $9k for. So I decided not to repair it

I always wondered if the deer whistlers actually worked. Good to know they have at least worked for you. I don't mind throwing some on my truck if I can kinda hide them a little.
