I believe it was Brock Yates (back in his Car & Driver days)...back in the 1970's. He quoted, the .gov regulations (MPG'd/wind tunnel) are going to make auto manufacturers conform where almost every car will look the same in 30 years. Damn if he wasn't right.

No, the problem is and the point I am trying to make is the two trucks are not related. The Ford sells a lot because its a good truck with a big market. I don't understand people always saying "well for the price of the Tacoma I could buy and F150, its bigger, tows more, blah blah blah". Yes, for the price of a Tacoma I could buy a loaded Accord also. It gets better mpg, faster, etc.... I am not in the market for an Accord so who cares what it costs or how fast it is.

Ever notice how all 4 door sedans converge on whatever BMW does with the 325 about 3 years later? Or they used to. Now I think Hyundai (yes you read that right) is leading the way on that trend. They all converge together every few years. Some days I can't tell them apart. i was renting today in Boston and could pick from any car in the National Executive Isle and I swear I could not tell a Chevy from a Ford, Hyundai, Buick or whatever they all looked the same. Randomly ended up in a Ford. My 1 additional comment/rant is the basic Ford Sync system is a total POS and the designer should be taken to the woodshed for an attitude adjustment. /rant mode off

Front end would actually look good if they toned it down by about 10.

This white one has the necessary hardware for the factory tonneau, but where is it?

Boom. I have a '16 Ltd arriving in 12 days-- for a few thousand more I could get a BADASS '16 Tundra TRD Pro (I just sat in one at the dealership yesterday--made my nipples hard), or for the same money I could still get a Tundra....I love the Tundra, but it's not what I need or want for my work or my life at the moment. I feel good about the value proposition in front of me, it's my money, and it suits me perfectly. Someone else might choose differently, and that is OK and awesome, and it makes a tear roll down my cheek as America the Beautiful plays in the background....

FYI Austin - I picked up my 2016 4 Runner yesterday at AutoNation Toyota in Austin and noticed that they have at least 10 2016 Tacomas in their inventory. They are not yet in the front lot.

The two trucks are not related? The F150 is currently the smallest truck Ford offers. Until the Ranger reemerges, I feel these two vehicles will be compared more and more. With the human population growing, and families growing, I think this comparison is much more realistic than with a "loaded Accord", since an Accord cant do TRUCK SHIT. That was a really, really bad example. You aren't in the market for an Accord, you're in the market for a TRUCK. Guess what, Ford makes one, that is spanking the Toyota brand's hind end right now like Adrian Peterson. Facts are facts, and I think it is time people wake up and expect more from Toyota.

The F150 is spanking the Tundra and Tacoma....in innovation, amenities, probably even in quality, if not gaining the edge, fuel mileage...

Fair to compare the F150 and Tundra. F150 is THE #1 selling vehicle world wide. Tundra will NEVER reach that status, ToMoCo know this no doubt.

Making a comparison to F150 and Tacoma is a foolish exercise. IMO

I think it is a much more modest comparison than comparing a Tacoma to an Accord.....
