Getting an Inferno sport myself. Short bed though. I don't know why but the proportions of the long bed with the double cab look way off. Congrats though!

I was under imoression that anything TRD meant the truck has TRD upgraded suspension etc... But looking at TRD Sports Vs TRD Off road, its the OF that has this so why give Sports version a TRD name also?

Not the same as the off-road. It has a sport suspension.

    I see...
Which one has stiffer suspension? I would assume OF. Coming from "somewhat sports" car background, I prefer the one with less body roll/flex when turning.

Congrats OP. Pretty sure I drove by and saw this truck out front on Saturday. I got my 15 from Escondido a year ago.

Well first of all, you thought wrong. That isn't the difference that makes something a TRD model or not. There are several differences between an SR5 and a TRD Sport or Off Road. Also, the 2015 Sport models came with a Bilstien suspension, this year it doesn't. So that's a new change, not something that has been around a while.

Very nice Love the inferno but ordered the more conservative White. I was afraid I would regret getting a "loud" truck, but I sure do love to see them. Stunning color. Waiting for my phone call from the dealer....Going to take a look at Canyons today to see what all the hoopla is regarding that rig. I doubt I will run to Toyota to get my deposit back.......Something about GM after having two Vettes recently and an HHR years ago and GM service around here anyway.

I originally wanted to off road, but two reasons I went with the Sport - I like the body color fender arches and front bumper (the black will turn grey in the sun after a couple years likely) and rims - so based on looks.... I liked the Sport more (even though I hate the hood scoop) but the second reason, and probably more importantly, this was the only truck they had - it was literally the only truck they got in, and I just popped on it after spending about 15 minutes checking it out, impulse buy, no regret or remorse.... it's such a great truck - I had TRD Offroads before on my last Taco's... all good. They're both great. (I wasn't getting 4x4 so didn't really feel the need to go with offroad anyway)

Even the haters have to admit.....this is the best looking Tacoma ever, by far.

It would look even better in short bed :dancingbacon::broccoli::bananadance: (sorry, I had to)

I had short beds before (and they fit nicely in my garage as well). But it was always tight with the motorcycles in the back - and I don't need to park in the garage now since my EV needs to stay parked in there to charge nightly.... so Long Bed just made more sense....and again, it's not like I had any choice - it's the only truck they had, and I bought it on the spot...

Let us know what you think of the Canyon. I drove a Colorado yesterday, along with a '16 4Runner and a '15 Taco (unfortunately, I haven't seen a '16 Taco yet). I like the '15 Taco better than the Colorado, and the 16' 4Runner much better.

My wife, who as no interest in trucks, said she got a very "blah" feeling from the Chevy, and advised me to get any of the Toyota trucks over it.... because, in her words, "they just seem better and nicer." lol
