I would bet that the first manufacturer that comes out with a grill like this will sell a ton. With all the grill hate on this site I would imagine that even guys who do not usually modify a truck would be all over one of these style grills.

I agree. A color matched with exterior grill surround, with trd pro grill, would look incredible on this truck. It would change the whole look of the front end. I'm going to try and custom make one, unless after market beats me to it.

I think any aftermarket grill will be a minimum of $500, and so will any OEM offerings. That's plug and play and painted, of course..

Not an insignificant amount for an aesthetic mod. I'd rather have 3 tires, Dakars, a full set of shocks, seat covers, full catback exhaust.. etc,.. etc,..

Yes, I imagine it would be close to $500. I think the current trd pro grill is near $400, but judging from the ungodly number of complaints about the new grill, I wouldn't doubt that people will pay that to improve the look.

Seems like eBay has PRO grills for $450.. HomerTaco grills for second gen (at least the ones I notice) are $550 or so, the Rigid model from the OP is somewhere in that ballpark as well and doesn't include a $700 light bar needed to fill what would otherwise be a hole.

I do wonder if the huge increase in grill size from 2005-2015s to the 2016-?? will amount to more fuckery when it comes to grill prices. It's like $1 more in plastic to manufacture, I'm sure.. but hopefully they (Toyota) don't add another $100 onto the current prices because it's more material.

Regular OEM grill surrounds for 2005-2015s are usually under $200 on eBay, which is way more practical especially when they come color matched and are genuine OEM.

I noticed the tundra trd pro grills were cheaper then the Tacoma. I wonder how difficult it would be to modify one to fit the 3rd gen? Paint the surround to match the exterior, good to go!

I agree completely. However I would imagine that a new grill with an led bar location will be available before an aftermarket bumper. So, if getting some lights mounted is important to you a grill might be the quickest way to mount some lights in a protected location.

A full OME set up will be going on the truck however before the lights/grill/anything else. Need to make the truck usable as a.......well truck. Hopefully 885's and dakars will bolt right on. It sounds like they will from what I have read. I am just assuming 885s will be the correct weight/height spring to match up with the Dakars still.

Everything should be bolt on, except possible the rear shocks like some of the 2015s had issues with.

OME shocks, that is.. weren't fitting on seemingly every other 2015 on this site with OME, Toyota changed rear shock mounts that required about 1/8" of clearance before the OME shock bodies wouldn't make contact. Possibly this is because the 2016 has the new shock mounts, and they started being used on the late production 2015 MY trucks.

    But, that's just a guess.

I will be on it soon as my hands lay on it promise! It's gotta be right since one of them is going to the SEMA show. I will have different options ie: LED , Non-Led, colors etc...Danny
