Well you need a spanner and a hex key. Loosen the hex key and use the spanner to add or remove preload. Start with 2 full rotations and tighten the hex key back. Drive the truck up and down a curb to get the suspension to settle. Rinse and repeat until desired height is achieved.

Note: this will toss your alignment off.
Calling Icon to find out the max preload is a good idea. They should be able to give you a measurement between the top hat and coil nut. Use a straight ruler for reference.

So just crank down on the top that's it.

    Icon says
THE SHOCKS SHIP AT ICON’S RECOMMENDED RIDE HEIGHT. DO NOT PRELOAD THE COIL BEYOND
1.75” (1.13” FOR 700LB COIL #158508) OF EXPOSED THREADS BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP
CAP AND THE TOP OF THE COIL NUT. INCREASING PRELOAD BEYOND THE FACTORY
SETTING WILL CAUSE COIL TO BIND.
so I got a starting point.

Funny that Icon says that cause they told Bill to preload his due to bottoming. Also, don't Icons say from 0-3" lift?

Just looked it up. That's a good idea right there! We always go to track day and stuff and there is never enough shade for everyone.

Lol no Its a actual awning on cvt website. It starts on the side of the truck and opens like half a bat wing and wraps around the back side of the truck too. Allot more shaded area
