I wouldn't run with just fog lights on while snowing if its dark, if that's what you're asking about.

Thats exactly what i am thinking about trying.

My buddy on FPD is at moose camp, but i suspect it is the sort of thing i might get written for if i was pulled anyway, but prob wouldnt get pulled for by itself.

The real queston for me is under what conditions would it be advantageous to run drl + fogs with no low beams, and how often does that really happen.

I think ill anytime mod my fogs to light anytime the key is on and go find out.

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
I do it with my smaller lightforces all the time. Granted they're way brighter than some stock fog lights on a 2nd gen but still.

Agreed, I don't believe figs will be bright enough or throw light far enough for using them by themselves while it's dark.

You'd be surprised how much easier it is to see with less light that's focused solely on the ground when it's snowing. Driving with your normal low beams sucks in heavy snow compared to some fog lights even if they throw out less light.

Those would be perfect. Just keep them nice and low.

I would do it and try it in blizzard conditions or really dense fog, or for when you need to see but don't want to turn on your headlights (for example driving around a campsite at night/early morning)

Good idea about early am at a campsite. Ill get the relay rewired to operate anytime the kwy is on and let you know when i actually find it useful.

If you can throw light a little farther out then you'd be golden for heavy snow fall while driving at slower speeds. Do you have a 2nd gen?

Not sure about that year but for 05-11, rigid industries makes fog light attachments for dually lights.

Yah. A 2015. The factory fogs fill in the pavement real nice behind the low beams.

There is a pon p550 N8ivFlav pit up sunday. Ass\u\me no other tradfic, how would that look lit by fogs only?

There is a bolt in led replacement fog for the 11-15s that makes many many lumens. About $120 for a pair, plus shipping. Im going to try the stock lights before spending the money.

Yes. I did the fog light on anytime. And it has saved my ass a few times in really shitty weather. And it is super easy to do. At least in my 2006.

I would if it is a full out blizzard. I have with hazards and fogs on only in a few dire situations.

    Yes, do it.

Avoid going into the star wars warp zone with just the fogs.

Granited, there have been all of 3 times in 4 years I have needed just fogs. When you are caught in shitty snow (that you probably shouldnt be drigin in anyway but hey) it is really a life saver being able to throw low light toward the ground and not reflecing off all the flakes.
