    It does but the stock skids are about as strong as a beer can...at least my base model 2.7L 4x4 does!

    The protection is like plastic I think. Do you know if TRD Off Road have better protection. In front and under the gas tank ?

    Its thin aluminum and mine is just up for the crossmember. Honestly it is more for looks then practicality. If you are going to be offroading I would look into some real armor (like budbuilt)

    Budbuilt ???

    Under the 4x4 SR5 4cyl the hole to fixe the skid plate are there even if there is no skid plate ? I look under a Taco 4 cyl 2009 here in Canada and there is no skid plate under the gas Tank ??? :mad:

    Just whant to know if the stock Tacoma SR5 4cyl will brake something under if i go off road. Will love to go off road whitout wondering if the gaz thnak will brake

    i dont think you have to worry about the gas tank unless you are doing something extreme like rock crawling or something...only thing my gas tank has seen is mud.. other than that it should be fine.. and what kind of off roading do you do?
