Looking at adding a few extra lights to the front of my 07 Sport. Was looking at mounting units but seeing as I live Seattle and everyone just parks by feeling for a bumper was curious about best ways to protect the lights from small hits. Not interested in mounting on top of truck though not a fan of that look. Any recommendations on products, brush guards certain light mounts?

Are those not in danger of being backed into? Seems like someone could easily back into your lights?

I guess, if all of the drivers in Seattle park by "feel", then yes. But then, if that's the case, any thing and any where you add an accessory, is going to get wrecked.

If people parked by me by feeling bumpers only there would be a lot of kicked in doors and broken side mirrors.

Also DIY or purchase a satoshi grill and put lights behind it. Craig @HomerTaco has a thread, I heard.

Thats it I'm sold buying a tank instead.

But actually sounds like I should spring for a full brush/(SH*T driver) guard to at least protect the rest of the front end and mount the lights to that.

Well I would say yes on the brush guard. Should be ok for light feeler bumps. And I would suggest led bars/led aux lights like pods or small bars if you're on a budget to put on it. They are pretty heavy duty, even the cheaper ones. I got in a front end wreck and the light that got hit, there was no damage to it. The mounts are probly the only thing that would be affected. Maybe bent out of wack a bit if bumped good. I wouldn't tighten them down super tight, so there's a little give and the light can just pivot as it's pushed. Idk. That's my opinion anyways. Or yeah, mount the lights behind the valence or grille. But sounds like you need a bumper to protect the truck as well.

Thats a good call as a good brush guard could run me up a bit on the $. I have't heard much about the strength/protective aspects of the bars your talking about. Have any recommended products/brands? Would love to take a look at a new idea. Not a huge fan of the giant guards if I don't have to add all that weight.
