Good choice of the sport over the off road if you were not going with 4 x4 regardless. It really makes much better sense on your part.

I saw your truck parked out front saturday morning with a bunch of people standing around it when I went to the parts department.
I thought about making the impulse buy myself, but I figured it was a pre-order just waiting for delivery.
    Congrats !

I believe the short answer is yes it does have the projector headlights with LED DRL. Key phrase is something like "adds to or replaces." They're not going to list all the same features again on the two trucks, just highlight the differences or additions.

Drove a Canyon today.... Love the styling of it. Very nice smooth ride. If I were going to choose a 15 Taco vs 15 Canyon, It would be a tough choice. Especially Having had the 15 Taco. Very Nice seats. But the turnoff was the back seats do not have the plastic "mini bed" with the seats down. I leave the back seats down on my Tacomas all the time. Tacomas JBL system is better IMO.

The Canyon inspired confidence. Solid truck. I love the bed step the Canyon had and the leather seating available in the SLT. I can see why they sell out quickly against the 10 year old Tacoma. All the modern conveniences.

Against the 16 Tacoma, it's a whole new game for me. With the improvements the Tacoma made, it blows away the Canyon, IMHO

I drove a USED 15 Canyon 4WD SLT with 15K miles ....Dealer wanted over $40,000 for it!!!! Not gonna happen.

AT the end of the day it would take 8-10 weeks to get the exact model/options I wanted and I do not have the confidence in GM I do in Toyota, GM dealer here is always backed up for service. I resell my trucks too much LOL and the Tacoma is an easy sale at a minimum loss.(I am HOPING I will keep the 16 for at least three years....My wife says maybe 15 months....)

All in all the Canyon looks better IMO than the 15 or 16 Taco but I drive (and live) from the inside out so what it looks like from the outside is not as important as features, safety tech and I have nothing but confidence in the Lexus sourced engine. Guys are putting catch cans on the Twins to avoid carbon issues. The way the Tacoma engine works, that is not an issue.

I am glad I looked at one and drove one having only my 15 to compare it to....The 16 Taco should be better.... a lot better. It certainly is less expensive..(from my dealer anyway unless "shenanigans" come up when the truck is delivered.

I would have chosen the off road if Toyota (for the locker)they painted the fender flares. I don't care for the tupperware look and don't trust any paint job on plastic not from the factory

But I am a street driver mostly so the Limited would have been a good choice but 18" wheels? NO....LOL I think the Sport is in a "sweet spot" between the LTD and the OR.

This is a really good point. The unpainted flares look fugly on most colors.

I guess if you really wanted the locker, you could buy the OR and get the flares painted. Then you would have a unique Taco that would confuse the shit out of some people.

You would be amazed at how many new cars get dented on the lot or in transport only to be sent to a local bodyshop to be repaired (and sold as new). Point being, a good bodyshop is just as competent to paint a vehicle as a manufacturer.

I would like to know why people buy off road Tacomas in 2 wheel drive it's not like you can do anything with it but go pretty much on flat areas can't go in the mud.i guess just the model I would rather have a 4x4 sr5 than a 2 wheel drive with a sticker that go places I can go.

I got a new Tacoma in 2014 and the back corner of the cab is dented up and didn't notice it til about 3 mnts after I bought it. I took it to the dealer and they said oh well we can do anything about it. The truck is silver and really hard to see it but sure enough it's got 3 dents in it on the bottom edge of passengers side next to the bed.
