What is the biggest tire size that you can fit with a 3" lift without cutting the cab mounts, i know that you have to trim the fender wich i dont have a problem doing. But i dont want to cut the body mounts to fit a 285/75/16 tire, at least not now. So what is the biggest tire size you can run without body mount trimming? I searched but didnt find what i wanted.. :)

Thats about the limit if you dont want to trim or cut into the cab mounts

As far as I know, 33"s will rub the cab mount only during off-roading. With 32"s, you don't need to trim the fender and cut the cab mount.

    32" - either 265/75/16 or 275/70/16 (wider)

My next tire will be 285/75/16 but I don't plan on trimming the cab mount as 80% of the time I'm on the highway.

You know on a base model, you may not even need to cut them. Take a picture of your body mount and post it up! I've looked at a bunch of mounts before I cut mine, and I think, IRC, you don't need to cut yours. IMBW.

One other thing... in addition to holding the cab, the cab mount is there for crash protection.

In a front end collision it tries to keep the tire/wheel from crushing the passengers. In a side crash, it tries to take the impact of the other vehicle's bumper as to protect the passengers. When you do cut it, only cut what you need and then weld it back in. I haven't welded mine (I want to trim it more). I've seen a number of guys that run their trucks with it cut but not boxed (mine's not boxed yet - I wanted to make sure I trimed enough). Good until you use it - either in an accident or hit it good with a rock - like I did on my failed attempt on AFTERSHOCK! (ring & pinion failure and driver error :))

The best cab mount chop and box I've seen are the ones that taper back about 30ºs.
