    I just got TX license plates and I'm wondering if anyone has ever had any issues with not running the front plate just having it in the cab? I don't feel like trying to find a good mounting spot on the plate bumper.

    Having it in the cab won't stop them from pulling you over for not having it on the front. Been there done that.

    Haven't run a front plate in 13 years. Legally you don't have to unless your car/truck has a factory mount for it. And I wish I remembered to tell the dealer not to drill the front bumper.:anonymous:

    I just did a quick google search and it appears you have to have a front plate displayed.

    I keep mine underneath my rear floor mat.

    I jammed mine underneath the fairlead and used self tapping screws on the bottom but it looks like shit and will probably get ripped off this weekend at Hidden Falls.

    Have gotten about 3 tickets and quite a few warnings for no front plate. You DO have to have one. With or without mounts from the factory. Its about a $150 ticket as well if you do get a citation for not having one too.

    I've been pulled over a few times recently for stupid ass reasons. Each time, no front plate has been tacked on as a warning. So I started to question it. Then found the law...it is required.

    And when I say stupid ass reasons, I mean it. My neighborhood has a lot of blind corners with stop signs. To see cross traffic (no stop sign), you have to roll over the white stripe. So I just stop over the white line. That's against the law. You have to stop at the line, then roll beyond it to see past the blind corners....then stop, again. Seems like a better law would be not putting stupid ass stone fences and crepe myrtles in line of sight.

    In Oklahoma I got pulled over for a crack in my windshield and no front plate. In OK, it's a fine for there to be a crack "anywhere the wipers hit, regardless of where it's at. even if [you] are from TX."
