Am sure will get better but--- watched truck load of Toyota's pull up at local dealer - only one was a 2016 Tacoma - they are expecting 7 or 8 - was told could be two to three weeks before first wave of 2016 arrive. Likely late October early November before dealers have significant selection on lots. Hoping my TRD Sport would arrive this week - not likely.

Well, maybe every dealership will get 40 overnight, delivered by leprocans riding on unicorns shooting rainbows (the unicorns, not leprocans).

In all seriousness, it isn't like Toyota can just store 40k trucks and delivery them all in 1 swoop.

One can never have too many light bars.
As much as it's frustrating it makes more sense for Toyota. They have been doing this for a while but since the models have hardly changed from year to year we don't really care. If they wanted to have a true roll out they would produce and hold the trucks and ship them out in large quantities all at once. But from a cashflow standpoint that would mean that there would be longer periods between actual transformation of raw materials to an actual recognized sale and they could state the income. Even though Toyota is huge they still operate with loans and lines of credit when it comes to buying raw materials so the less time between actual production and sale will reduce Toyota's liability and interest expenses and help them maximize profit.

What State was this precious delivery observed in? The north east coast is bone dry.

I saw a bunch of new ones on a truck coming over from Baja CA last week. The AZ dealers seem like they are the first ones to get them which geographically makes sense. Another reason why the West Coast is the best coast!

Louisiana - about 300 miles from San Antonio. Been told Toyota is being very careful because of past quality control issues - like numerous past RECALLS>

    Too few to list.
Dealers in this region (SoCal) are getting like bi-monthly shipments.

They're waiting for the '15's the dry up more. Dealers are selling out of them fast for sure, but there's still '15's en-route to dealers. Seems like Toyota is cutting it too close. Dealership up here sold 20 '15 Tacoma's in about 3 weeks and they have about 12 left with a couple of '15's still up for delivery.

They'll never have a problem selling a 2nd gen. Heck, they could have a brand new 1st gen on the lot and they'd get mauled by all the guys wanting to buy it for 20k.

Yea almost makes me want to buy a 2015 mag grey DCSB OR and park it for 10 years haha. Then all of the sudden it's 2025 and there's a 2015 DCSB OR tacoma with 5k miles on it in literally brand new condition... could be drunk though :drunk:

Too bad they didn't use the same delivery technique they use to load passenger planes....

Hmm, San Diego dealers have been getting a couple every week. Port of entry is Otay Mesa. Other trucks go to LA for dealerships and to be put on trains to go north and east. Toyota was still making 15'sure in August when they started slipping in 16 Builds on the assembly line. They actually ramped up on 16's only at the beginning of the month.

For sure.....it isn't like a company can just shut down making the 2015 when they want. There were still all the subcontractors making parts that were still on line to the manufacturer. Heck, just think of the 2015 as a different and less expensive Scion version of the Tacoma. They will be cheaper with better deals to be had. Heck, my 2015AC OR 4x4 listed for $31 k last fall and I paid under $29k for it. That's $8k plus better then the 2016 and I bet now you can do better then that.....Toyota is still making a ton of money and it was good thinking on their part NOT to change " the look" too much so the 2015 still looked competitive style wise. Heck, I am happy to have the second best midsize truck out there.....second not to another brand, just another generation Taco.

You can bet your ass the first time I pull up next to a 2016, I will rev mine up and run it to the next light.....just a 16 year old mind in a much older body.
