I love push button start and proximity locks. Sure beats "de icer" in a door lock on a cold ass morning mid winter.

    Pound that strawman, slick.
I didn't say that a key cylinder will never wear out. I said that in my experience they're more reliable in cold weather. There's a distinct difference.
I've owned a lot of older vehicles, many of which have had over 200K on them, and the original key switches on all of them worked 100% of the time.
When I used to work at a service department, we saw keyless start systems that were failing before 100K, always in cold weather (usually Nissans and Kia).

Edit: Not trying to start an argument; push-button starts predate key cylinders. Just saying that I think that I don't particularly care for the recent trend of a big button on the dash that says "START". :notsure:

Nothing stood out, didn't look that hard though. Checked out an inferno today. I've seen two 2wd TSS's, MGM and Inferno, and that one black TRD OR. I like the trucks.

If you don't want straw men, you probably shouldn't load your comments about the only advantages being for lazy women that can't be bothered to pull their keys out of their purse.

Anyway, here are some advantages of push button start/proximity locks. I have a 3 year old. Wrangling her to and from anything is easier with two hands free. If I'm reaching into my pockets for keys to unlock the car, I have one fewer hand to maintain the composure of the kid and whatever she is holding. I also mountain bike and backpack. It is much more convenient to pack the keys away securely in my camelbak before I have the rest of my gear on. This way, I touch the handle and go rather than hastily try to get the keys somewhere secure as the last thing I do or potentially lock the keys in the car (I actually had this happen before while biking when my brother and I thought the other had the keys).

At the end of the day, this is what the market is asking for so it makes business sense for Toyota to offer it just like electric starters, automatic transmissions, and air conditioning that probably seemed frivolous and problematic at the beginning.

Edit: I had a Subaru with 84k miles that wouldn't release the key due to wear. My FIL's Tacoma had a bad key at 115k.

Sweet - what is the build? If I read that it was 1 month late being built?

While most of your numbers are correct, having that debt can effect your ability to obtain credit in other area's. If you don't foresee needing to borrow additional money in the future then you will be fine. Also other's, if the have the cash might like the peace of mind if they lose their job or get sick they don't have to worry about a truck payment.

Actually, that's pretty true. Dealers are stealing other dealers allotments with the high demand at the moment. We here on this forum are not the only ones looking for the truck. Every truck sold creates demand once it hits the street and the public sees it. One dealer was looking at trucks 500 miles away to fill my request. On some allotment sheets the trucks are marked "DO NOT TRADE". I saw this back in early August when looking for mine.

If you are that worried, take the cash you would have paid, put it in a muni bond fund(3-5%), make your payments and have whatever amount you would have paid cash for backup money to pay the payment, or whatever you decide is more important than the truck payment. You will still be ahead.

Borrowing money and making steady perfect payments will allow you to borrow more in the future, not less. If you need it later, the money you have saved sitting around could be used instead, or pay off the truck note. I'm not saying you should over extend yourself I'm saying look at your situation before taking your cash out and possibly giving up a bunch of earnings and your emergency fund just to be more comfortable with no payment.

I usually don't believe the hype but I actually got to see the build order in Toyota's system along with queries about each vehicle they had.

Very Nice! any chance you give more details on the LED strip (how you wired etc.. ) and a pic? I was thinking it would be a good idea to wire it into the current bed light swtich
