I just got the secondary letter yesterday.

And I'm just guessing here but no one must have died as a result of this recall or you'd think Toyota would be moving a lot quicker to remedy the problem...

I got my second letter Monday. It does not discuss replacement of the springs, but just some undescribed "remedy".

Remember, they don't have to make the springs good to satisfy the recall. They just have to make it fail safely when it does fail.

I could do that with a couple rolls of duct tape.

According to my dealer, I am affected by the recall, but have not received a single letter from them...

Stock now, but planing on upgrading audio system, proguard rack, rear work lights and tow hitch.
Last month I had drivers side leaf crack. Dealer replaced with 4 leaf pack and gave me a free rental car for 10 day until work done. They billes Toyota $2,987.

What's awesome for folks like me that got a new frame etc......is that I'll still be getting newer leafs when Toyota finally figures out what they're doing with the recall. This is a great thing as the leafs they just put on squeak like mad. Just got off the phone to confirms this info. For what that's wortho_O.

No one died yet so they have over a 120 bodies to stack before they catch up to GM and actually have to fix their admitted screw-up.

Wait. People died in gm cars because of something that was later recalled?

Also got my letter. Love my Taco but have to say (given the state of my frowning leaf springs) this isn't confidence inspiring.

    Government Motors.

The justice dept. should have proscuted the GM executives. But didn't because .gov motors.

And, the GM share holders foot the bill for the settlement. Pretty bad if you ask me.

GM is making pretty damn nice vehicles currently. But I won't own one. Sadly, because I've owned many and would buy again if not for the .gov involvement.

Same situation happened to me. I busted a passenger side leaf in jan. Went to the dealer in May and they ordered new leafs for both sides no questions asked and gave me a tundra rental for a week. My suggestion to you guys is if you currently have a broken leaf visit your dealer. I think you'll be surprised at the outcome.

I know. I'm a few months away from a serious suspension upgrade that involves a set of deavers. Thing is, I kind of want my pound of flesh from Toyota for making a shitty part... I know that's bad, but it's how I feel.

Nah that makes sense, I'd for sure get the leafs from them. In case you ever go back to stock or to sell
