I think he's just 17 and bad at typing. No offense OP, but most of your messages were pretty much a foreign language.

Just thought it was an odd question, I had a 1984 Ford Brougham LTD and I took that thing off-road. Don't see how your pee runner could do any worse than that lol.

With that button ("rr diff lock") pressed, you will have twice the offroad traction of a normal 2wd truck, but less traction than a 4wd truck. I think you have to be in first gear and going real slow for that button do actually cause your rear differential to 'lock up', and thereby increase your traction (the owners manual will have more details).

Judging by that photo, you seem to have good ground clearance (larger tires? lift kit?). That also helps.

This may go over OP's head (no offense), but I'll try to explain what the RR diff lock effectively does.

Power will always take the path of least resistance, so if you have one rear wheel on the ground and one off the ground, the one OFF the ground will get 100% of the power and you will go nowhere. Same concept if one is on snow/ice/sand/mud and the other has more traction. The wheel on sand/ice/snow will spin, the wheel on a hard high-traction surface will get little to no power and you won't move or will barely move.

The RR diff lock forces the two rear wheels to spin at the same speed. So, if only one rear wheel has traction, it will still get power and you will still move.

The downside is this makes turning difficult because a turn forces those wheels to turn at different speeds and the diff lock will not allow that (think of how a zero-turn lawnmower operates). So, you should only use this when you are on sand/mud/snow/dirt--somewhere the wheels can lose traction to force a turn. On pavement it would put tremendous stress on the differential.

Some trucks will have limited slip differentials which will automatically move power similarly, but not quite as effectively as a true locker. You have a true locker.

So while you aren't as good as even a 4x4 with open differentials, you've got the best case scenario for a 2WD truck.

As a side note, you should take your truck onto some dirt and see if the diff lock still works. Sometimes when they go unused for a long time, the actuator fails.

I'm talking about not using the differential lock itself for a long time, not the truck sitting.

Lmao, no. Don't start this, tough guy. I bet my truck has seen more than your 4wd. Know your lines, keep momentum, it's all about the challenge.
