I have a 99 sr5 and I was installing my strobes today (fire fighter) and noticed in my fuse panel there is a spot designated for 4wd and has a 20 amp fuse in it. My truck is not 4wd so why is there a fuse there?

Are you looking at the correct spot??

Someone stuck a spare fuse in that slot

Using that circuit for something else.

Pull it out though it might start the self destruct sequence !!

See if anything no longer works

HA, I was just gonna say to pull it & see what happens... OP, it's not unusual for base model vehicles to have seemingly extra ports/parts/ or harnesses for options not on the vehicle in question..

Nothing happened, its not wired to anything. Apparently a lot of companies do this, a friend with a little ram gas burner showed me where he has a place for a diesel heater relay and glo plugs

It's usually cheaper to have 1 part for all vehicles than it is to have 10 parts for 10 vehicles. The same with wiring. Most rides without power mirrors etc, have the chassis wiring in place.
