I think the 2016 Tacoma is a beautiful truck. Toyota is a great company. The Tacoma, whatever year, is a great truck. Toyota must sell a blue million of them annually, because that's about how many I see on the road. I predict Toyota will get their act together on this situation very fast. In a couple of years, this situation will probably be a case study at some Ivey League business school. As DCSBFTMFW says, "Mark my mother fuckin' words".

Mine at 1st was not initialized, still wouldn't stay in place. Went back and was told 4 bolts were loose. Seems to be fixed now.

What cases are you speaking of? And what drain tubes?

    Hey
    Mike330R
All sunroofs are in a cassette case( as they call it. ) They have little holes on the front and bak (usually 4 2 front 2 back) since the gromet around the sunroof is not entirely water proof. this way any water that makes it through between the glass and metal collects in a channel that is guided out to the little holes and down the tube that comes out on the bottom of the car
if you want to see how it works take a little up of water and pour it in the channel when your sunroof is open, you will see where the water will drain (much like your car is taking a piss or when your AC is on except a little less water)
But yes missing the tubes are a bit BIG! lol, and yes water collects on the back seat or on floor as it runs down without tubes

Scooter, you should have just ordered the version without the rear seats and had the dealer install the factory cruise control.

if it is ever clogged you can use compressed air to blow air through first( cheap easy fix) but if it does not unclog u need to pull the whole ceiling cover off to check ( aka dealer visit or someone that knows what they are doing)
again this happens usually as cars get older, with new cars the problem usually is a non connected or missing tube....water on the back seat but mainly on the rear floor

some dealers will try to take your door apart first claiming it is the water barrier in the door that is the problem but often it can be fixed with compressed air by cleaning the ducts.....( if you off road a lot i would clean it with air a few times a year anyways as maintenance)

    Good info thanks.
I went through a car wash 2 days ago and payed close attention to the sunroof area. No leaks until it went under the high pressure air blowers to dry the truck. It was high enough pressure that it pushed the sunroof down a very slight amount and about 3 drops of water were hanging from the head liner on the edge. Didn't feel any water in the headliners edge though.

I'd look for a new dealer or a new salesman. I know my truck's 2 years old, but that was what they did with mine. As part of the negotiation, when they quoted me a price, I said I'd take it if they would install cruise. They ordered the factory kit, notified me when it came in, set up an appointment and then installed it. To make matters worse (for them) the base Prerunner didn't have the necessary wiring harness for cruise, so they had to fabricate one. They did a great job and I've had no problems at all. Don't see why they can't do the same thing now.

When I've had new stuff with issues and no parts available they come out of the assembly plants. had to get a body control module for a 16 tundra 2 days after we received them on the lot. Parts were over night shipped to get the truck back to the customer.

I know it's late now but most Toyotas without cruise you can jus buy the switch and small harness in the steering wheel to add cruise. Same thing with intermittent wipers, just buy the intermittent wiper switch.

Unless they've changed it in the 2016 model, the cruise I control is located on a stalk on the steering column. And, as I mentioned, not all trucks had the cruise wiring harness.

Used to be that you could order from the factory, whatever combination you wanted for a vehicle now they make everything come in packages.. Is it so hard to give the customer exactly what they want..??
