11 years old and she lost her eye site, We have an appointment with an Veternarian eye doctor next week to see if any of her vision can be restored.

 

She'll do fine, if they can't help, but hope there is a chance for her.

 

My buddy had a blind dog. Just don't move the furniture around too much and they will map out the house sooner or later. His dog would haul ass down the hallway and hang a right then jump on the couch right into your lap. 100% blind.

 

I've posted my boys before....gotta do it again.

Lol...yeah I spoil them. I rescued them both, I rescued all my dogs for that matter. They are both great dogs. Jackson, I was able to save him one day before the pound was going to put him down. What a shame. He is the mischievous one....always into something...gotta always keep an eye on him. JIMBO is so laid back and chill....typical lab.

 

Still trying to figure out what she's mixed with (German Shepherd). Anyone want to take a crack at it?

If you really want to know....Amazon has a doggy dna kit. You swab your dogs mouth and mail it in. You'll get an email with what she is. $45 so it ain't cheap but it doesn't exactly break the bank. I did it on my lab mix Jackson ( a couple posts up) ....lab beagle mix.

 

I was looking into something like that. Are you satisfied with the results?

 

Thanks. She has long hind legs and is very intelligent. She used to ring the door bell for attention when we kept her in the front yard.

 

Yeah, we had a good idea he is a lab/beagle mix. We just wanted to know for sure. If we had no real idea what he was I can say we for sure would've done it.

The shelter said Dex was a hound/chow/boxer/pointer mix.

The DNA test said he has pure bread GSD and Boxer in him...one side was always gsd mated with a mixed breed, other side was always boxer mated with a mixed breed.

The 5 most likely breeds that made up the mixed breed pup was, according to the test, chihuahua, finnish spitz, chow chow, scottish terrier, and chinook. So, half of the breeds that the dude that brought him and his littermates said showed up in the DNA test.

Having known now what the DNA test said, I wouldn't have gotten it and spent the $45 on toys.
