Truth is...how would anyone here really know? Maybe Toyota hasn't really told anyone of any real importance yet. This kind of thing actually happens all the time. It's just that 99.9% of the time nobody knows about it. We know about this one because it concerns a Tacoma and this is TW. But TW represents a tiny portion of actual and potential Taco owners and the vast majority are completely unaware there's anything going on.

In other words....a few of us on some little website out in the middle of the internet are making a bigger deal out of this than it probably really is.

Certainly some truth to what you're saying. It's always hard to tell on a website just how many haters there really are. Is it a lot or just a few that make a lot of noise? My only real issue with a site like this is the haters have to give everyone else a chance to express their opinions without flamin' the hell out of them. The "fanboy" term is thrown around more here than any other forum I've ever been a part of in the last 20 years or so.

    x2 ... start a list.

There are some really good people here. This 3rd Gen thing has been oddly very controversial covered with heaping ladles of idiot gravy. Several haters/disrupters have been banned. Since you've (FunkyMonkey) only been coming here for 3rd Gen info (my assumption) you're seeing TW at it's worst. Once more folks get these new trucks in their hands, I'm certain things will settle down and you'll see the helpful, enjoyable TW environment that has kept me active on here for 5+ yrs. Hang around, give us a chance.

All forums are made up of the same categories:

    1. Enthusiasts....who own their vehicle because they like it.
    2. Fanboys....who like their vehicle because they own it.
    3. Lurkers....who either don't own a vehicle and/or do not post.
    4. Haters....who, well you know....hate....for a variety of reasons.
    5. Trolls....who are set on destruction and disruption only.

The key to a good site is to be heavy on the 1st 3 with just enough of #4 to "keep it real".

As a member of various communities I can say that the same people show up everywhere. The treatment of that problem appears to be a paywall but tolerance is raised after a while and that is no longer effective. Ignore list is your friend and when a semi-sensationalist thread appears with unverified info expect the trolls to come out in force.

    Yeah.
OK, I got an update on the issue.

Not really. Just figured you all wasted my time, so why not pay it forward.

I say it all the time.....use the ignore feature. The trolls here are allowed to ruin most threads,
for the past 6 months it's happened in almost every thread by the same group.

TBH this is fertile ground for trolls. We are dealing with the namesake vehicle of this forum for a very specific set of people that are going to buy it to do neat and interesting things. Consequently we jump onto any scrap of info and run with it, argue over nuances, make unsubstantiated claims as to specs and capability, complain about missing features (see any thread about disc brakes, power seats, height adjustment, any thread that BlueT vomited all over). Most of this was done without any official data from Toyota. OTOH I cannot wait to buy mine since I got to sit in a TRD sport a couple of days ago.

Radelix, none so far. Since it was late afternoon I didn't get to go over it as much as I wanted. Today is a wax and a real thorough inspection.

As I said earlier in this thread. I have sold Toyota's for over 29 years. I joined this thread just yesterday because I have loved the Tacoma for many years and now have a 2016 TRD Sport dlb cab 4x4 ordered for me to own personally. Build date is set at 10/13/15 in Baja.
I have found a lot of good information on this forum but like other forums, for some of my other interest, misinformation also appears. Per Dealer Daily (our direct to the minute connection to Toyota Corporate) there is no stop sell, tsb or other problem with the 2016 Tacoma.
Toyota is very impressive in how they handle these things properly. Lots of misinformation in this thread.
Ps: drove a Off Road yesterday that came in for Bass Pro and I would take that one if we had more dirt in Ohio.
